In a cave, many many miles from Equestria two dragons were in deep conversation. The eldest of the two appeared to be male standing on his hind legs at least 25 feet tall black scales along his body a dark blue underbelly, and wing webbing, two 3 foot curved horns jutted from his forehead. The dragoness he was speaking to was slightly shorter at 20 feet tall but unlike the male she was completely maroon red with purple eyes she significantly shorter horns than the larger male.
"Riptide I understand what you want to do, but it has been so long how do you know he still lives he is not a dragon. As well the dragon lord says we do not have the supplies to send anyone out at the moment." The maroon dragon said in a somber tone "I'm sorry riptide I know it still tears at your heart even after a millennium"
"Fuck the dragon lord he has no sway over me. I have been alive since the first dragon lord and I did not follow him then why fallow theses weaklings that have no fire in them. If I wish to go looking for my son none shall stop me" The now appointed Riptide nearly roars at the dragoness flames slowly leaking between bard teeth. " This conversation is over Mika (pronounced Meka) please leave I have preparations to prepare for I leave in a week's time and I will not be back till I have my boy in my arms again. Go and tell the dragon lord if he stands in the way I will defeat him as I did his grandfather all those years ago."
"Riptide if I go and tell the dragon lord that he will be on his way with an army." Mika looked very worried for the elder dragon "what then can you take on an army yourself with no armor and no support. How is that to work out for you because I can almost see your head on a pike being paraded around by the dragon lord through the lands."
"Well throw a fish my way when my head passes your house because if I die many dragons died to take me" Riptide stars to walk to the back of his cave "Come, How much of our history do you really know. You asked me of armor I was a general during the dragon wars I have kept it here with me for safekeeping and to maintain it." In front of Riptide was a mountain of armor pieces.
"Whaa where did all of this come from. You never said anything about armor before" Mika was very flustered from her earlier outburst. The scales under her eyes becoming an even darker shade of red. " Well, it seems there is nothing I can say to change your mind not even the dragon lord had any sway on your decision. Bring your son home riptide I will stall as much as I can but he will send for you know this." With that Mika begins to walk out of the cave.
"Mika wait" Mika stops and turns around "yes" Riptide walks up to her and hugs her " I am sorry my friend I have been rude to you i know you are trying to help me but I know he is out there still and I have to find him I have too many years without my boy. I'm sorry for my actions today, and I wish the best to you till I return."
With that Mika walks out of the cave and flies off. Riptide returns to the cave to begin preparations for the journey ahead of him it would be long but well worth it to see his son.
One week later Riptide prepares to leave as he steps out of his cave he is greeted by none other than Mika "this is it huh your off today" she steps in and gives Riptide on last hug "Goodbye friend till we meet again" Mika and Riptide separated from the hug " Goodbye Mika but it is not farewell forever. We shall see each other again soon"
Time skip 3 days
Riptide had landed in a dense forest and began to look around for a cave to rest in. after hours of searching, he had finally found a good cave on top of a mountain from here he could see a small village on the edge of the forest. 'Best be on guard there is a village at the edge of the forest' looking around he could see a river the ruins of a castle and much more forest "well I guess it's time to settle in" With that Riptide went in and lay down for sleep.'
"Wow I can't believe another dragon moved in is a good thing we already kicked one's butt" Riptide heard a brash voice say
"Calm down there sugercube we have no idea if thisuns mean or not so let's hold off on rushin in with our heads on backward," Said a country like voice
"I agree with Applejack we must be ladylike dash" A posh accent this time 'that's three but I can smell three more'
"If you wish to be stealthy you should not come to a predator's cave and talk loudly" Riptide stands fully armored at the mouth of his cave the six females he smelled earlier were, in fact, pony's 'Well i know where I am at least mayhaps the monarchs of this country will know where my boy is'
"AHHHHHHH" all six girls screamed at once. Before a streak of rainbow went rocketing toward Riptide. Without moving him an inch the streak hit him and collapsed to the ground "it is unwise to charge headfirst into steel armor or an opponent much bigger than you"
"We are sorry about that mister dragon our friend can get a little hot headed at times. My name is Twilight Sparkle these are my friends Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity" Said the one known as Twilight.
Riptide stood in silence for a second taking in the look and smell of each individual pony "My name is Riptide I am Looking for my son and have decided to start here. Why have you come here" Riptide was slowly walking around them still observing these ponies until he made his way back in front of the group.
"The princesses sent us because there was a dragon sleeping in a cave and the last one was producing a lot of smoke so she sent us to stop you from being all smokey," said the pink one known as Pinkie Pie as she appeared on my nose
"Ah, so your monarch sent you six girls to deal with a dragon and not their guards. That's dumb what if I cooked you with a blast of fire or stepped on you or even just rolled on you in my sleep with or without my armor you are still crushed to death you know dead no getting up. What kind of monster does that? You all have no combat skills whatsoever how many quests has your ruler sent you on." Riptide asked wide-eyed " I mean come on the blue one ran into armor head first not fist first head first"
"Hey, buddy we can handle ourselves just fine thank you," Said Rainbow Dash arrogance oozing from her tone.
"Sure you can your 4 foot tall and I'm 25 foot tall with 5000 pounds on you and 3000 years your senior. I have seen more wars than the amount of time your blood has been in Equestria" With a bored look on his face riptide turned his attention from Rainbow Dash to the rest of the group
" We are the elements of harmony…. " Twilight attempted to say before she was cut off.
"Hahahahahahahaha that's even worse if one of you is dead your nation is doomed those trinkets have been the saving grace of your monarchs for too long" Howling with laughter riptide was bent over holding his sides.
"Hey we beat Nightmare Moon so you should be a piece of cake" Rainbow Dash was in riptide's face
"Who" Riptide was confused he had not heard of this name before but considering Celestia and Luna left the world meeting 1500 years ago it was not unexpected for him not to hear of their enemies.
"The mare in the moon who wanted to bring about eternal night" Twilight answered as if everyone knew who she was
"Never heard of her" Riptide said with a blank face "Now if yall could do me a favor and point me in the direction of your capital I need to have words with your princesses"
"Um I don't mean to be rude partner but we don't know a thing about you and yall expect us to just point you in the direction of our leaders and capital" Applejack had her eyebrow raised as she said this.
"Well as the element bearers I expect you have a way to contact you princesses so if you would like to bring them here that works too," Riptide said in understanding after all he was heavily armored.
"Ok but you will have to come to the town of Ponyville to meet her I mean them" Twilight was quick to answer She seemed to be unused to announcing two princesses
"I shall be there in three days to allow them to free up their schedule and you to send them a letter" with that said Riptide turned and left the group to find him something for breakfast 'Hmmm three days should be enough time to search this forest for anything of interest'
