Authors Note: Hey, this is the rewritten prologue. I don't have much to say, but this prologue will be different from the previous prologue. Also, the prologue will not have music. I don't want to be delayed any longer in finishing this chapter and this is a prologue. I hope you all will enjoy this one better than the last prologue. That's all I have to say, enjoy the chapter.
xXxXxXxXxX
A young man with short black hair, standing at a height of 5'10, wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of black pants. He looked shook his head and then walked out of the door of his room. "Mom, I'm ready to go to school."
A petite blonde haired woman nodded in response. "Okay, just give me a few minutes to get ready. Can you get the mail in the meantime, Vince?"
"...Fine." Vince walked out of the house and grabbed the mail from the mail box. He walked back into the house and looked at a black envelope with gold stripes. (What's with this mail? ... It's addressed to my mother and I.)
(Dear, Elena Reinhart. We of Kuoh Academy have received your son's resume and have decided to allow him to attend our academy, after seeing his hidden potential. We hope to your son at our academy soon.) He thought reading the letter to himself.
Vince frowned as he put the letter back in the envelope and tossed it into the garbage. (What a load of bullshit. I'm not going to Japan just for some school.) He then spoke up, "Mom, you ready yet?"
Elena walked out of a room and nodded, "Yeah, did you get the mail?"
"Yeah, especially that junk mail over there." He replied pointing towards the black envelop in the trash can.
Elena frowned and picked up the mail from the trash can. "It's not garbage Vince. You know as well as I do, that you need to go to a new school. Especially after what you did to your grandfather's car. A few days ago."
"I don't think it was that bad mom, it could have been worse." Vince answered with a shrug.
"You caused your grandfather's car to explode by shooting a flaming arrow at it, pouring gasoline on it and lighting it up with a lighter. You're very lucky you didn't get caught." She replied in a deadpan tone.
"That bastard had it coming. He deserved after that prick started comparing me to my no-show of a father! Besides, I take after you more." Vince answered stubbornly.
"I know the old man can be bastard, Vince. But you really went to far. What if he was in the car, or someone else? They would have died!" Elena said in a serious tone.
"The only one who lives with him is my grandma. It wouldn't be a real casualty if either one of them died. Besides, I'm not gonna kill them. They're not worth my time." He replied in a apathetically.
"This is why you need to go to you Kuoh Academy. Staying here any longer will cause you to do something, you'll regret for the rest of your life. You need to get away from here for a while and cool off." She commented in a concerned tone.
"Whatever."
Elena shook her head and sighed, "Just get in the car, I'm ready so I'll take you to school."
(School: Lunchtime)
Vince sat down in a chair into a cafeteria as he slowly started to eat. (I suppose mom has a point, in a way. I know I let my anger get to me and I over did it, a prank or breaking a window would have been less extreme.)
"I found you are Vince." A feminine voice said.
Vince looked up to see girl with blonde haired that went down to her waist, with green highlights, green eyes, wearing a dark green blouse and a pair of dark blue jeans that showed her well endowed body. She looked at him with an annoyed look as he spoke. "Yes, Rena?"
Rena sat down next to Vince with a smile as she stepped on Vince's foot and pressed on it. "I know, you used the archery club's bow and for your stunt."
Vince flinched in pain but shrugged, "You said I needed to practice more, Rena."
"Using your grandfather's car as a target, isn't the type of practice I was talking about." She answered in a annoyed tone.
"Oops." Vince got his out foot and sighed. (I find it hard to believe it's been two years, since we've met. Rena is annoying, but at least she's nice in a way.)
(Flashback: Two Years Ago)
Vince looked to see Rena walking up a case of stairs while carrying two boxes. (So that's Rena the school idol, everyone hasn't shut up about? Meh.) He shurgged and continued walking.
Rena walked up the stairs while carrying the boxes in her hands and lost balance. She struggled to keep balance but fell backwards. "Ahhhhh!"
Vince's eyes widened as he instinctively ran towards her. He grabbed her by the back as the two fell down the stairs. "Shit!"
The two fell down the flight of stairs as Rena landed on top of Vince who groaned in pain. She gasped after quickly getting up. "Oh my god! Are you okay?!"
Vince got up stumbling before he shook his head, "...I'm fine." He then tried to pick up a box before he was stopped. "What?"
"You're injured, let me take you to the nurse." She said grabbing his hand.
"That doesn't matter." Vince picked up a box while flinching in pain. "Where does this have to go?"
"Nevermind that! Just let me take you to the nurse." Rena replied in a worried tone.
"...I'll go after we get these boxes upstairs." He answered stubbornly.
"...Alright, just take it easy. I know you're in pain from breaking my fall." She commented, lifting up a box.
After the two delivered the boxes in a awkward silence, Rena spoke up as they walked to the nurse's station. "Thank you for saving me. I'm Rena Xenos, what's your name?"
"I'm Vince Reinhart." Vince answered with a shrug.
"It's nice to meet you, I wish it was in a better circumstance though." Rena said with a sigh.
"Hn."
(Next Day)
Vince looked annoyed as he noticed Rena walking towards him. "What do you want?"
"What's with the attitude? I'm just here to check up on you, Vince." Rena commented with a tickmark.
Vince rolled his eyes in response, "As you can see, I'm better today."
"That's a relief to know. So, do you want to have some lunch together at lunchtime?" She asked in a curious tone.
"No."
(Flashback End)
"Hey Vince, you okay?" Rena asked waving a hand in front of him.
Vince blinked twice before he shook his head, "Yeah, I was just remembering the day we first met."
"You were a bit of an ass back then." She answered bluntly.
"Just like how you were annoying back then. The only difference between back than and now is that you're slightly less annoying." He said with a small smirk.
Rena playfully pushed him in response, "You jerk, that's not what you say to a girl."
"I still fail to see why you still hang out with a "jerk" like me, Rena." Vince replied with a shrug.
"You're my friend, duh." She said rolling her eyes.
The two looked at each other and laughed a little before Rena spoke up. "All joking aside. It's hard to believe that it's our final year in middle school."
"I find it even harder to believe that you kept asking me to join the archery club, until I gave up, back then. Especially since, their were other students that wanted to join." Vince said in a deadpan tone.
"You know as well as I do that, if I asked them to join that they would only pay attention to me and not the club itself. Besides, I needed one more member to keep the Archery club from disbanding." Rena explained with a sigh.
"Well, the only good is that I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow." He replied with a shrug.
"Oh, that reminds me. Today after school, you'll help me with the clean up." She said to him.
"Why?"
Rena looked at him with deadpan look, "It's punishment for stealing the bow and arrow from the school, and using it to blow up your grandfather's car."
"How do you even know that? I don't recall telling you." Vince stated folding his arms.
"Let's just say, I know a lot of things Vince." She replied shaking her head.
"Tch."
"Moving on." Rena started blushing a little as she spoke. "The social for the school is coming up. Are you going to take someone with you?"
Vince raised an eyebrow but shook his head. "What about you? I'm sure you have a lot of guys lining up... and girls."
Rena punched Vince in the shoulder causing him to flinch. "I'm not bi, you ass. Besides, you know that I won't agree to that and you're not changing the topic."
"I'll just stay home and play videogames." Vince said in a nonchalant tone.
"You can't do that! The school social is a year end tradition for people that are about to graduate middle school!" She shouted at him.
Vince sweatdropped in respsonse, "I'm surprised you feel so strongly about this Rena. I thought you would prefer to practice more on your archery, or your kicking. Especially since you're the captain of the archery club."
"Don't call my martial arts "kicking" , it's the fighting style my mother taught me so I can defend myself. Moving on, just because I prefer to work out, doesn't mean I don't like to go out every now and then." She commented folding her arms, causing her bust to rise up.
Vince looked the other way and sighed, "Either way, I don't plan on going. It'll be kind of sad for me to go by myself, ya know?"
"Well in that case, why don't we go together Vince?" Rena asked, causing him to look at her in surprise.
"...Are you asking out of pity?" He asked in a cautious tone, not wanting to upset her.
"No. B-Besides, you're the only one I would take with, to the social." She answered with a small blush.
"Why?"
"Because you're the only I trust to take me, without trying something funny." Rena commented before she shook her head. "So, will you take me?"
"...I'll see what I can do. Finding suit is hard, especially since I'm poor." Vince said with a sigh.
Rena smiled brightly as she grabbed his hand, "It's okay. I know a good place, we can go to."
Vince nodded before he sweatdropped, "Rena, we're getting attention."
Rena looked around to see the other students look at them. The male students looked jealous while the female students sighed dreamily as one spoke up. "I'm so glad Rena and Vince are couple now. I almost thought they would never get together."
Rena immediately let go of Vince's hand as she cleared her throat. "A-Anyway, after the club just meet me at the school entrance."
"Fine. But I gotta make a text to my mom." He said to her.
"Okay, tell Ms. Reinhart that I said "hi" ." She replied causing him to nod.
(After School)
Vince picked up a longbow and carefully aimed at the target. He then fired the arrow, the arrow was sent flying as it near the bull's-eye. (Close enough.)
Rena clapped her hands as she examined the target and the arrow. "That was good Vince. But you were very tense when you shot the arrow. You have to stay calm and relax."
"I know, but it's hard to fire with a longbow for me. It's a bit slow for me." Vince stated.
"Then try this bow." Rena walked up to Vince and handed him a short bow. "I already finished using it, so you can try using it. We already know that you're not really compatable with a longbow."
Vince grabbed the short bow and nodded in agreement. "It's easier for me to use a shortbow. By the way, why won't you let me use a bowgun or mini crossbow like you?"
"Are you kidding me? If I let you use that, you'll most likely cause a mess with it. Besides, you need to work more on your speed for getting out arrows." Rena said in a deadpan tone.
"Yeah, yeah." Vince took out an arrow from a quiver and fired an arrow from his bow.
The arrow hitted the target but it was close to the bulls-eye. Rena noticed this and sighed, "You're not even trying Vince. I know you can do better than that, try again and this time don't slack off on purpose."
"Fine, freakin' slave driver." Vince mumbled as he got out another arrow.
"I heard that Vince!" Rena shouted.
"I wasn't keeping it a secret." Vince replied in a sarcastic tone. He aimed and fired the arrow, which hitted the target's bull's-eye. "Happy now?"
"Yes, now I want you to keep doing that while quickly taking out the arrows." Rena said to him.
"When can I stop?" He asked curiously.
"After practice is over and from their you can help me clean up the mess. Remember, this is your punishment for stealing the bow and arrow, for that type of purpose." Rena answered seriously.
Vince sighed and as he took out another arrow from the quiver. (I really should have thought out of the consequences before I did that.)
(Three Hours Later)
Vince picked up the last remaining arrow and wiped the sweat from his face. (I'm finally finished.)
Rena walked in and tossed Vince a bottle of water. "Here."
"Thanks." He replied after catching and drinking from the bottle.
Vince tossed the bottle in the trash breathed a sigh of relief, (Rena is a bit of a slave driver when it comes to archery training but, I can't deny the results from it.)
"Vince."
"Hm?"
"You got really lucky avoiding getting caught from doing that stupid stunt, but luck won't last forever. Please be more careful in the future, I really don't want to see you get into trouble." Rena said seriously.
Vince's eyes widened before he nodded slowly. "I'll try to act more careful from now on. Looking back at it, it was a really dangerous thing to do. But, I feel better getting back at him."
"Even if your grandfather is unpleasant to talk with. Be more considerate of your actions, you really could have hurt someone doing that." She replied looking at him.
"Relax. That's probably the first and the last time, I'll do that. Besides, seeing my grandpa's reaction to his car being destroyed was totally worth it." Vince answered with a grin.
"Only you, Vince..." Rena commented shaking her head.
"Let's go the school entrance, I'm sure my mom is going to be there soon." Vince said to her.
"Okay."
Vince and Rena waited in front of the school entrance as a car came up. He noticed Elena get out of the car and spoke up. "Hey mom."
"Hello Ms. Reinhart." Rena greeted with a smile.
Elena smiled then hugged Vince and Rena, "Hey Vince. I got the text message from you." She then turned to Rena. "You know you, don't have to call me Ms. Reinhart, Rena. I told you to call me Elena."
"Sorry about that, force of habit." She replied with a sheepish smile.
Elena nodded in response, "So do you have the directions to the place, Rena?"
"Yeah, I do." Rena handed Elena a piece of paper. "The directions are right there."
"Okay. So, when is the social?" Elena asked curiously.
"...It's tomorrow." Vince answered in a hesitant tone.
Elena's eyes widened before she stared at Vince, "Wait, why didn't you tell me, Vince?"
"I didn't think I would go, mom." He replied while shurgging.
"Wait. Does that mean that you and Rena...?" She asked looking between them.
"Umm, yes. But it's only for the social, Elena and i-it's not like we're dating or anything..." Rena explained in a shyly.
"That's just a title to avoid it being called a dance." Elena said with a shrug before she turned to Vince. "Come on, Vince. We have to go get you a tuxedo."
Vince sweatdropped in response, "You're awfully cheerful about this, mom. Anyway, I don't want a tuxedo, I prefer a suit."
"Well of course. This is your first social, Vince." She replied happily.
Vince sighed and shook his head. (At least this will keep her preoccupied from having her pissed at me blowing up my grandfather's car with a flaming arrow.)
As if knowing what he was thinking Elena rolled her eyes. "Don't think for a moment, I forgot what you did to you're grandfather's car."
"...Fuck."
"Come on, Vince. We have to go over there to place to the store." Elena said to him, before turning to Rena. "Take care Rena, and tell your mother I said, "hello" . "
"Sure thing, take care Elena. See you tommorow, Vince." Rena replied before walking away.
"You don't see to many girls like that nowadays. Be sure to take care of her tommorow." Elena commented.
"I know."
"By the way, I've decided on your punishment." She replied.
"Yeah, so what's the price for blowing up my grandpa's car with a flaming arrow?" Vince asked, not being able to take the grin off of his face.
"You'll be going to Japan and attend Kuoh Academy, Vince." Elena answered folding her arms.
"Wha? Why!?"
"I'll be blunt with you, Vince. You need to get away from here for a while, over these past few years, things have been very tense between you and my side of the family. For god's sake you blew up my dad's car! Besides, you've always been stuck in your room playing videogames when you're not hanging out with Rena or going to the archery club." Elena explained seriously.
"..."
"You're also missing the bigger picture here Vince. Think of it like this, ever since you saw her alive in that Dead or Alive fighting tournament, right? You can use this chance to look for her, I would have called Ayame, but I lost her phone number a while back." Elena stated in a sad tone.
"But what about Rena? It's pretty obvious that she won't like this." Vince asked with a frown.
"I know Rena won't like this but, she's very concerned about you. I'm positive she'll understand." She answered in a confident tone.
"...Fine, but I'll tell after the social. I don't want to upset her before it starts." He said folding his arms.
"That's fine and who knows? Maybe after everything settles down for a bit and you come back, she'll probably try to hook up with you." Elena said with a smile.
"Let's just go the that shop, before it closes. Besides, I think it'll be better to go to Japan. After all, I won't have to deal with my motor mouth of a mom." Vince snarked.
"That comment is going to cost you, Vince." Elena stated with a tickmark.

Authors Note: And that's the end of the chapter. I know this is shorter than the other prologue, but that's only because I need some of that material for a chapter, I'm making. It's basically a chapter zero and this is a prologue, it's supposed to be short, for the most part. Now for the explanations.
As you can see this is pretty different from the prologue. It may be shorter but I tried to make sure it went more into detail and explained the exact reason why Vince was forced to go to Kuoh, plus I thought it would be good to show a little bit of what Vince was like before going to Kuoh.
Also, I wanted to emphasis on this chapter how distored and messed up Vince's relationship with his family is. His mother's relationship is very strained and he doesn't hesitate to get revenge on other family members, as shown in this chapter. Also, I wanted to show Vince's rage button. Which is being compared to his father.
Originally I didn't want to include a female OC because they're a bit... difficult to write. But after doing a beta prologue without the OC, it turned out horrible. That's why I included it, but I can assure you that I won't make it a mary sue. I won't go much into detail about the female OC. But I will say one thing about her, she's not completely human.
One last thing I want to say, next chapter will be chapter zero. Which will be uploaded, the same I time upload a new chapter for the main fanfic. So basically, I'll be uploading the two chapters together like this time. That's all I have to say for now, I hope you all enjoy this prologue better than my previous prologue.
