It was only a few days until Christmas, and thankfully, Tori had finished all of her Christmas shopping. Now it was time for her to lounge around on the couch all day and watch horrible reality TV shows. Just as she sat down and picked up the remote, though, she heard a knock on the door. Tori sighed; it was probably another random solicitor. She got up and opened the door.
"Merry Christmas!" Andre said excitedly, startling Tori.
"Andre, what are you doing here? It's not even Christmas yet." Tori laughed.
"Well, I figured you'd be busy on Christmas day, so I thought I'd just give you your present now." He held up two tickets in his hand that she couldn't quite read. "I'm taking you ice skating!"
"Aw, you shouldn't have," Tori said. She couldn't help but smile back. "But I've never actually ice skated before." She said with a nervous look.
"Psh, you'll be fine, kid. Trust me, it's fun. Now hurry up and get your jacket, this place closes in two hours!" Andre motioned to his car. Tori was a little scared, but she couldn't say no after he actually paid to take her out ice skating. She grabbed her coat and they headed to the ice skating rink.
Tori took what seemed like ten minutes just to get herself onto the rink. Andre was steadily holding her arm, trying not to laugh at how freaked out she was. It was kind of cute.
"Oh God, I am seriously going to fall and DIE on these skates, Andre. Why did I do this?!" she was clinging on to the side wall for dear life.
"Calm down, just relax, Tori!" Andre chuckled. "All you have to do is stand up and keep your balance!"
Tori took a deep breath. "Alright, I'm going to let go of the wall. You BETTER not let me fall!"
"I won't, I promise." He squeezed her arm. Tori let go of the wall and slowly stood up on her skates. "I DID IT!" she squealed excitedly. She sounded like a giddy little kid. "Alright, let's do this!" All of a sudden, she seemed to be full of confidence. But before they had even begun to skate five feet, Tori fell backwards right on her ass. Andre quickly tried to help her up. "I got this, I got this!" Tori pushed his hand away, trying not to look like she was not in as much pain as she was. Falling on your ass onto ice is more than unpleasant.
"You okay?" Andre patted her on the back. "I'm good to go." Tori winced. They slowly skated around the rink. Suddenly, Tori started getting wobbly again. She grabbed on to Andre's hand; she was NOT about to fall down again. "It's okay, I've got you." Andre said calmly as she regained her balance. They both laughed in relief and kept on skating. But oddly enough, Tori didn't let go of Andre's hand after that moment, and they ended up skating around and around until closing time.
