Lay of the Gold and Silver
Disclaimer: Don't own squat. If I owned anything Tolkien related I'd have money pouring out of my ears; and I certainly wouldn't be limited to posting my poems on the Internet.
Laurelin,
Tree of Gold
Telperion the White
Greatest creations of
old
Blessing the land with light
Born
of Yavanna's song
and Nienna's hushed tears
before shadows were
long
In a time with no fears
Long
in bliss lived these twain
Yet Darkness watched ever
Malice
poured forth like rain
Life he sought to sever
With
the spider's power
Morgoth came, cloaked in night
The Two Trees
they did scour
Destroying splendor bright
Beauty
akin would appear nevermore
to that of the Two Trees of Valinor
