Author's note: Hi, this is my first addition to the ever growing Fanfiction world. This is the prologue to my story, Lexi in Underland. I'm just playing with the idea right now so let me know if I should continue it or not!

A girl, about seven, skipped her way down a path humming a tune as she went. She preformed a twist mid-air and kept going, not missing a beat. Her blonde hair swished down to her mid-back and she opened her blue eyes once in a while to ensure she didn't trip or run into anything.

She saw a small, white bunny in the distance and ran to it, expecting it to run from her. When she was about a foot away from the albino critter and it hadn't moved a muscle she slowed to a gentle stop.

"Hello, Mister Bunny, my name's Alice, short for Alexandra, what's yours?" The small mammal twitched its nose a few times before smiling and saying in a gentleman's voice,

"The name's Black, Peter Black."

"Peter Black? That's a funny name for a white rabbit!" she giggled, not realizing that talking with a rabbit was weird. She had never been polite enough to ask a bunny what their name was before so maybe they didn't talk to her because she had never asked.

"Yes, I know," Peter chuckled as he shook his furry head. "But I didn't name me, now did I?"

"Well, no, I suppose not." Peter's little red eyes gleamed for a brief second before he asked Alice,

"Alice, do you suppose that you could pick me up and take me to those trees over there," he gestured with his nose, "You see, I hurt my paw earlier and can't quite put my weight on it yet."

"Why, certainly. I will help you no problem, Mister Black."

"Oh, call me Peter, Dear." Peter's eye held anticipation as Alice walked forward the few steps that separated the two. Alice leaned down to pick Peter up when suddenly, out of no where a lavender and gray tabby cat jumped Peter and ripped at his side, causing blood to splatter up one side of Alice's face.

The two wrestled, biting, clawing, and screeching at each other. Eventually Peter kicked the cat away from him. The cat landed on its feet but stumbled. The cat turned and looked at Alice with dark purple eyes.

"Run!" he said with a voice that sounded young. "Run, Alice, run and don't look back!" Alice stood frozen before she followed the cat's command. She ran and as she ran she could still hear the fight as the snarls turned to yells. The sounds of fighting animals turned into something Alice had never heard before and wished she would never hear in the future. Silence caught up to Alice quicker than the fight ever could have, the silence that followed a ringing gun shot.
