Sara Lewis couldn't believe what she was doing. When she left the WWF five years ago she had been hell bent on leaving that life behind. Now here she was sitting in a bar, in her hometown waiting on Paul Levesque, who was her ex-boyfriend's best friend.
"Sara, you haven't changed much." Paul said walking up to her.
"Neither have you."
"How's the law career?"
"Fine. I'm working for one of Nashville's most prestigious law firms."
"Congratulations. I always knew that you were supposed to do more than work for the WWF."
"It was a good run while it lasted. How are the guys?"
"Shawn's fine."
Sara took a sip of her scotch. "He probably has a string of girlfriends already."
"Actually he hasn't seen anyone since you broke up with him."
"Really? That's surprising."
"Don't sound so shocked. He loved you. Do you ever think about him?"
Looking into Paul's eyes she knew that she couldn't lie to him. "I miss him. Sure our relationship had it's ups and downs, but it was nice having a warm body to snuggle with every night, especially his."
If you see him, tell him I wish him well. How am I doing? Well sometimes it's hard to tell. I still miss him more than ever, but please don't say a word. If you see him.
Paul thought back to the conversation he had with Shawn Hickenbottom about ten minutes ago.
"Why are you so dressed up, bro? What lucky lady are you going out with tonight?" Shawn asked when he saw the outfit Paul had chosen for the meeting.
"Actually I'm meeting Sara Lewis for drinks." Paul replied trying not to smirk at Shawn's stunned look.
"Sara? As in my Sara?"
"I think she's just going by Sara now." Paul answered with a grin on his face. "Anything you want me to tell her?"
"Tell her . . . tell her that I still think about her."
If you see her, tell her I'm doing fine—And if you want to, say that I think of her from time to time. Ask her if she ever wonders where we both went wrong. If you see her, if you see her.
Paul was snapped out of his thoughts by Sara's voice. "I'm sorry Sara, what did you say?"
"I said that I still need him and I don't know why we let each other go."
Oh, I still want her. And I still need him so. Oh I don't know why we let each other go.
Sara quickly glanced at her watch. "I better go. I have court tomorrow." She leaned over and kissed Paul's cheek. "Tell him that even if it takes him forever, I'll still be here." With that, she left.
Paul sat back in his chair. "Yeah, they still love each other. Too bad they didn't realize it before she left."
If you see her, tell her the light's still on for her. Nothing's changed deep down the fire still burns for him. And even if it takes forever, say I'll still be here. If you see him. If you see her.
