The year was 2014. Chriar was crowned Queen of Ravencroft. Her reign was celebrated by all in the town of Ravencroft, and she was considered worthy of her rule, a rule that had been largely abandoned by King Seven who had travelled far out of the town to find gold and silver to support his land and its people.

In Ravencroft, Queen Chriar was not above mingling with the townspeople and that was when Chriar fell upon a young boy.

"What is your name?" Chriar asked.

"My name is –" the boy began.

"HIS NAME IS STEP," a young man from the distance exclaimed. Chriar recognized him. This was Andy, the keeper of the Gwen Stacy shrine, northwest of Ravencroft. He was an odd fellow and was known to bed Donald Trump.

"That's not my –" the young boy said, but Chriar interrupted with, "Hello, Step. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Small and naïve as he was, Queen Chriar took pity on him for being a Transformers supporter, and so she took him under his wing for the next two years.

Soon enough, over much conversation, Chriar and Step discovered their mutual love for the arts, writing in particular. They were both entranced by the tales of Marvel, and discussed them many a night. Step's love for Marvellian lore was so strong, he created his own story to accompany them, named, Wolverine and the X-Men: X Marks the Spider. Over the months, he gradually gained more and more praise and recognition from those in Ravencroft, but not only for them – from those outside of Ravencroft as well. He was happy, and Chriar, being the kind, loving lady she was (also exceedingly attractive), was glad of his success.

During an evening of blissful creativity, Step proposed his queen should aid him with a chapter, for he was having troubled with it, and needed more experienced hands, and Chriar was the natural person to ask, for her skills with the pen were highly-regarded in many circles.

"I will be sure to give you the credit you deserve for your work," Step promised.

With some guidance from Step, Chriar wrote this chapter and soon, it was given to the masses to relish.

One day soon after, Chriar peered at the new chapter in Step's tale, and discovered her name was nowhere to be found within it. She looked again, but it was apparent that her name truly wasn't present in the work.

Step had betrayed her, had cut her, had nearly maimed her. Unfortunately, she could not behead him, for at this time, Ravencroft was a destitute land due to Seven abandoning the land altogether, and so Chriar and her people had to abandon it. However, Chriar did have servants by her side, such as her laywer.

Alas, no vengeance would satisfy Chriar, for Step was a dear friend, and nothing could make her forget his disloyalty to her. She instead, would grasp the upperhand, noble as she was, and leave Step be, and instead, wrote this story to inform all of Step's treachery.

Step would now be known as a fraud, for centuries to come.

The End.
