It had been a long and tiring day. Hoards of enemy bandits were killed, to prevent the further deterioration and destruction of the townspeople's homes. At first, the mission summary was simple, just a diplomatic trip to gain support of the locals, for allies and supplies. But that changed when they heard the reports of the bandits attacking the people, pillaging and raping as they marched through. Finn decided to take it upon herself to root out and destroy them, even if she had to do it alone. But, of course, the others readily accepted to help her. And so it ended successfully, with piles of empty bullet casings, and Finn, with her ever present katana dripping with blood. But the day was now over, and the memories slowly fading as she drifted off to sleep in her lover's, Carson's, arms, feeling safe and protected.
As he watched her sleep, he couldn't help but notice how peaceful she looked, and felt sad in the fact that she rarely allowed herself time to rest. In her sleep, she cuddled closer to him, taking comfort in his warmth. He kissed the top of her head then closed his eyes, smiling with heartfelt adoration at the strong love they had for one another.
