He stared at his teammate with wide sorrowful eyes. There on the forest floor, was his little konoichi. She was curled up in a tight ball and was breathing heavily. She had a slash across her skinny arm and a cut just below her visible eye. She was covered in many other injuries as well but they weren't important. What caught his was that her long pastel pink hair was stringy and was dripping with dark red blood. He gathered all his courage and looked at her face. Her emerald eyes were glazed over and she had tear stains running down her cheeks, he flinched. The left side of her pale face was coated with blood. She had a deep slash across her eye and where her eyes should be was now a giant bubble of overflowing blood mixed with tears.

He felt the teme come up behind him and looked over his shoulder. The teme knew what they had to do. He walked to her side and bent down. He flinched when he saw her eye but ignored it and waited for her to look up at him. When she finally managed to move her head towards his direction he felt his eyes prick. He knew she wouldn't make it.

"Sakura, me and the dobe are going to get tsunade so stay here and don't try to move. Don't close your eyes alright, you'll make it, we won't let you die." He got up and stared down at her a little longer. He had a look on his face that said sorry. He nodded at Naruto and together they ran off towards the hokage tower.

She saw her vision blur and quickly lifted her arm. They were running again, with their backs turned towards her. She hated that! She was always the week one, always the one that would see their backs. They never heard her. She felt dizzy as pain shot up her arm. Her vision turned white and began to close in on the backs of her teammates. She lifted her arm a little higher and opened her hand. No. She wouldn't die like this, she had to tell them! She had to see him smile at her! She had to be there with them, she wanted to smile with them! But they were running away, leaving her behind again. The Uchiha and Uzumaki clan symbols, fading away. The light was closing in on them fast. She opened her hand a bit more and despite the pain, she shot up and closed her hand, hoping to catch her teammates. But she missed. The light caught them and she screamed "DON'T GO! WAIT FOR ME, PLEASE...don't go." They were gone. Her body went numb and her vision went black. She still had to tell them, they wouldn't hear her but she had to say it anyway.

As she fell to the floor she felt nothing, heard nothing and saw nothing. She stared ahead and used the rest of her energy to open her mouth. As blood trickled out over her trembling lips she smiled from the heart and said with a voice filled with sadness, anger, joy and love "Thank you." She closed her eyes and sadly parted from her beloved village and her teammates, knowing that team seven would never be the same.
