Tye had been thinking over all he would tell Jaime when he finally saw his best friend again. There had been little else to do when not being trained and tested at STAR.
First he would tell him about his powers, and talk about how awesome yet scary they were. It wouldn't matter that Jaime wouldn't understand exactly what he meant, having no powers himself. But over the years he had always relied on him as a sounding board and always returned the favor when it was needed.
And second he would tell Jaime about was something equally amazing, the someone that had been on his mind more and more. He wanted to tell his best friend that he had met the girl of his dreams.
He had wanted to ask Jaime for advice on how to approach a girl as fantastic as Asami. How fantastic? Simple terms like smart and funny were nowhere near strong enough. Neither did butterflies come close to explaining how he felt in her presence.
He had wanted to hear Jaime call her hermana to express his approval.
'But I guess that is all for nothing now,' Tye could only think, frown marring his face as he remember Jaime and who he had become that fateful night. Looking out the window to Metropolis below, he found himself mourning the loss of his best friend. Fists formed, nails digging into his skin, he couldn't help but wonder how well he had really known Jaime. And if there was a chance to save him and bring him back.
