Fang glanced over at Maya as they were flying through the air. His stomach did flips as he thought of Max. Sometimes he had to remind himself that she wasn't Max. She was a completely different person. She definitely wasn't as bossy anyway.
Maya looked over at him and saw him looking at her. She scowled. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked.
Fang was shocked out of his thoughts. "Oh, uh, nothing." He said quickly, blushing faintly.
Maya sighed. "You were thinking about her. Weren't you?" she said quietly.
Fang didn't say anything and that was enough for her. "Why does everyone compare me to her?" She asked, frustrated. "I'm my own person."
"I know you are." Fang said earnestly, trying to cheer her up.
"But I wouldn't want to be anybody else." Maya said, not hearing him. "I may not be some beauty queen, but I'm special in my own way."
Fang smiled. "That, you are. You're amazing." He said tenderly. "No one can tell you who you are."
Maya smirked. "They say I'll never be as good as her. Well, who says?"
