Hey, everyone! So I know this is super short, but I just had to write this down. *Looks at clock and yawns widely* As it is nearly three thirty a.m. here, please excuse all typos.
***SPOILERS***
If you haven't as of yet seen The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and do not want to read spoilers, turn back at once!
I do not own The Hobbit, it belongs to it respective owners (Tolkien and Jackson). I am not receiving any monetary gain from this little piece of fiction.
And as always, please review; I'd love to hear your opinion of this little piece! Thanks for reading! ~ Knowing Grace
My Friend
by Knowing Grace
"Who is this Thorin Oakenshield person?" The question came out of the blue and I froze, my hand hovering over the doorknob to my home.
Who was Thorin Oakenshield? The words repeated themselves in my mind until I feared I would go mad.
He was the leader of our Company...no, although that was technically the correct answer, he was so much more than that.
He was King Under the Mountain. True, but still not quite right.
He was a steady rock in the middle of a thunderstorm; he was often the voice of reason—though Gandalf and Balin might beg to differ. He was decision maker, protector, comforter, Orc-slayer, determined to reclaim his homeland; he was strong, just, and true to his kin. He was loyal, honourable, and had a willing heart.
He was...He was..He was...
I glanced at Adolphus Bolger, saw the contract I had signed dangling from his hands, and felt the sting of tears pricking in my eyes. I took a deep breath, held it and then released it as slowly as possible.
"H-he was...my friend." I said. Turning the knob, I slipped inside Bag End and closed the door firmly behind me.
