Are we Really United?

You say that we stand united, that we will fall divided.

You tell us that everything is all right

That you have everything under control

Then why is it that I see violence

Just when someone else doesn't agree with you?

Why is it that when we have Democrats and Republicans,

Each is always arguing that they are right in their views

And each party is always waiting for the other to fall

You say that I am just a mere child

Is that an excuse to hide from the public these ideas?

I don't understand why. . .

Why do we say we are Christians

And yet most of us are afraid to speak up of the world's evil ways

We are all different.

I agree with that.

But inside we all have a heart.

So look inside and really see.

Some of us are racist

But does it matter what color of skin we are?

What's the difference?

People always have something against presidents

In what they do and say

We are all not perfect

And yet we all seem to think a president should be right in decisions

To lead this nation.

There are so many wrongs done

That's why I wonder why God made us?

For us to quarrel?

No.

He wants us to treat each other equal.

To see each other's opinion in their shoes.

So don't always think this person is right or that.

Put yourself in their position.

See the world with open eyes

Ask yourself what Jesus would do

Understand why others don't agree with you

Weigh the differences and see that we are all not that unlike

United we stand, divided we fall.

Instead, let our motto be

United we stand and united we fall.

We all have a dream.

Let's use it to make the world a better place.

Even if it's just by helping a neighbor

Or not complaining while cleaning the dishes

So don't lie to us

Tell us that if we work together,

We can make this nation great.

Maybe we don't like each other

But we don't have to

To make our country more united.
