Author's Note: Hey! I finished reading Clockwork Angel and was highly impressed with the relationship between Tessa and Will. I cannot wait to read the next book, so here's just a little one-shot I wrote. It's really short, but enjoy!
"It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you
Wishing that I realized what I had when you were mine
I go back to December, turn around and make it all right
I go back to December all the time"
-Back to December, Taylor Swift
A shriek echoed down the barren halls of the Institute. Normally, Will would have gone to investigate the cause of the bothersome squeal (his was an overly-curious person, after-all), but he could hear that the high-pitched yelp was laced with mirth and delightfulness. Which could only mean one thing...
It was Tessa, or more specifically, Tessa and Jem.
Tessa with Jem.
A sharp, sudden pain flared in his left palm, and it was only then that Will realized he was clenching his fist. Hard.
He had no idea why thoughts of Tessa made his brain whirl 'round like madness, they just did.
Her look of confusion after he had abruptly ended their kiss and basically told her to scram.
The pure innocence she'd radiated when she had awoke in his arms.
Her look of hurt and, well, disgust after he had suggested they go up to her room.
Will remembered it all. She could have been his, he could be the one making her laugh, not Jem.
But every time Will thought of making things right with Tessa, he remembered.
Remembered that she was a much better person than he was...
Remembered that he didn't deserve her...
