"It's okay, Sakura. I know the truth now."

But the kunoichi continued to worry. "I hate it when you say that… I'm scared, Sasuke-kun. You're not going on another one of those quests for revenge again, are you?"

"Sakura, he lied to me and made me go against my home village. He was the one who killed Naruto. If I don't stop him, who will?"

She couldn't answer him. She didn't have an answer. She knew he was right. "You sure you'll be alright? You promise we'll meet again?"

"Sure, we will. Now, go on. Konoha needs you…"

Sakura took one last glance at the Uchiha. She didn't want to part with him again, she didn't think she could live another day just worrying about him, but she put on a brave face and smiled at him. Giving him a peck on the cheek, she told him, "Be safe and come back…" And with a heavy heart, she took the first step, her eyes always on her love—her small hand slowly leaving his that had protected her…

She got into the carriage, and Sasuke gave a firm nod to the silver-haired jonin who held the door opened.

"You'd better keep that promise or I'll be the one hunting you down," Kakashi said before going into the carriage and closing the door.

Sasuke just watched as the carriage drove off into the distance.

Inside the vehicle, Kakashi smiled at his female student.

"You should have told him the good news."

"He doesn't need any distractions. Besides, I want to surprise him when he comes home. He'll be pleased to find out that he's got an heir."

Kakashi chuckled. "Yes, he will be. But, Sakura . . . a new era and a new battle? It's a bit scary, being Hokage at this time."

"I think I can handle it." After all, what was she to be afraid of? She knew her teammates would always be with her. She glanced down, carressing her stomach with her hand. She could feel her ltitle child's kicks. Naruto would watch over them, and she knew Sasuke would always come to her rescue if need be.
