Sakura frowned and once again moved closer to the red-headed shinobi only for him to once again move back.
"I'm fine," Gaara insisted even though he had only just found is feet and his chakra levels were deplorably low.
"Don't be ridiculous. You had a long battle with Seimei and you need treatment," Sakura scoffed, her hands glowing green as she made a wild grab for the Jinchuuriki, only for him to once again slip from her grip. Rolling her eyes, Sakura spotted Temari and Kankuro some distance off speaking with Shikamaru.
"Hey Temari," Sakra called. The blond in question paused in her conversation to look curiously over at Sakura and Gaara.
"Can you tell your brother to be behave. I'm trying to heal him but he keeps squirming away," Sakura complained. To her dismay, Temari quickly turned away and pretended that she hadn't heard them. Exasperated, she called for Temari again only for the blonde to ignore her. Kankuro on the other hand, smirked and slowly made his way over to the pink haired kunoichi.
"What does she think she's doing?" Sakura demanded still absently trying to reach out to Gaara only for the red-head's sand to deflect her. Gaara for his part wasn't quite able to make himself move away from her, not with all the energy he had depleted.
"Sorry Sakura," Kankuro chimed as he slowly made his way over to his brother and hoisted one of his arms over his shoulder in support.
"I don't get it. Why wouldn't Temari help me? Why wouldn't Gaara let me heal him?" Sakura complained.
"I'm fine," Gaara interjected in a firm voice.
"You can barely stand!" Sakura argued. Gaara stared at her intently for a moment before the wind picked up. Sakura was forced to cover her eyes as Gaara's sand was caught in the frenzy. Once she could see again, she was surprised that to find that he had vanished, leaving Kankuro behind. Snorting in amusement, the puppet master turned to look at her.
"You know..." he began.
"I think he likes you."
Mouth agape, Sakura found herself at a loss for words. Gaara liked her? Impossible.
Looking away, Sakura's eyes found Temari's. The blond smirked knowingly at the medic.
