I've never written Bravely Default fanfiction before, and I've never written the characters, but I figure why not take a shot at it. It's based off the dialog scene you get if you manage to kill both Victor and Victoria at the same time.

My Sweet...

"I just wanted to say… I hated you. You wouldn't let me die, though I suffered so." Her dying words rang true, but stuck the spiritmaster's heart like paralyzing daggers; the painful jolt rushing through his faint, beating heart.

Her ill stricken body was no longer a prison, each failing organ breaking the cell bars one by one to assure her final freedom. As the hate rolled off her tongue she welcomed death with open arms, but not all would agree with what she yearned for all this time. Even though he always wanted to give her what she desired, he couldn't bear to let his little witch go unless he did the same.

"No," He muttered a barely audible whisper, "Victoria, I will not let you go…" The metallic taste of blood spread across his tongue as he looked at her beaten form right beside him; through blurred vision and shattered glasses. His stomach turned at the forbidden sight.

His beautiful Victoria, now broken but in arms reach, had become more than a fine specimen to poke and prod at since she was first assigned as a mere subject. From that fateful moment on, Victor's feelings slowly became more conflicted with each other; affection and hatred in a constant battle after his father fell by her hands.

It wasn't too soon after, that Victor found himself becoming Victoria's own reflection; every emotion she displayed, he mirrored to a tee as almost to please her and keep her satisfied. Whenever they fought against the enemy it was as though they fought as one; Victor always acting as Victoria's support in the end. It was all the slightest of things that filled him with an odd, false sense of sanity; Victoria as his slowly fading light in the dark.

If she were to die, his sanity would no longer have an anchor.

If she were to die, then he was to do the same and join her; their souls would never be apart.

"Please, Victoria…" He weakly pounded his bloodied fist on the ground; his stern voice shaking. "If I am to die, my soul… It will join yours." The reassuring idea of still being by her side in the afterlife made him smile; he was only fooling himself.

"Fine. I suppose there's no getting rid of you." Her voice held neither kindness, nor sympathy for her dying companion, but the statement sent his heart a brief flutter.

"Th-Thank you, Victoria… My sweet, sweet Victoria…" He saw her chest rise then fall one final time, a bittersweet smile still faint on his lips. He gently placed his cheek to the cold, stone ground, the frigid air enveloping them both. His eyes slowly shut.

Short and bittersweet... There will probably be more Bravely Default stories from me in the future.
