Something I just found on my laptop that i thought i would share.
"How did I end up agreeing to this?" Byron asked allowed as he stood inside Aria's doorframe watching her and Ezra sleep.
"Because you told her you wanted her here instead of at Ezra's before she went to college in a few months" Ella said answering his question.
"Yes but when she asked if he could stay here instead I didn't realize it would be most days of the week and I'd have to see this" Byron said motioning towards the pair. They were both sound asleep, Aria had her head resting on Ezra's chest rather than her pillows, she always did find him more comfortable than any pillow she hade ever come across and Ezra had his arms wrapped securely around Aria, showing no signs of letting her go anytime soon, not that Aria had any intentions of leaving.
"Whether you like it or not you have to get used to it if you want you and Aria to have a relationship. If you shut Ezra out she'll never forgive you."
"I know, I know but..."
"Just make an effort with the guy, I'm almost certain you will like him"
"I'll never like him he's dating our daughter" Byron interjected
"Well just forget about that for a little while and talk to the guy, not right now of course but tomorrow maybe, he's a good guy Byron and whether we admit it or not he's almost perfect for our daughter." Ella said trying to reason with her husband at this ungodly hour. "Don't stay up too late starring you have a lot of marking to do tomorrow and you're staring to look like a creepy stalker. Ella kissed her husband softly on the cheek before going back to bed. Byron stayed watching his daughter sleep so peacefully with the love of her life and couldn't remember the last time she looked so relaxed, the thought hurt his heart a little. After a long debate was over in his head he came to the conclusion that his wife was right, unfortunately. Ezra was almost perfect for Aria. Had he not previously been her teacher and if he wasn't seven years older than her Byron would have welcomed the boy with open arms from the start. But now that Aria was going to college he realised she was growing up and that the choices she made were her own to make and that if Ezra well and truly made her happy and was what she wanted then he had to make the effort because from the looks of it Ezra had no intention of going anywhere, that, and that thought alone couldn't help but make Byron smile to himself before retreating to his own bed ready for some much needed rest, vowing he would make more of an effort with Ezra and make his daughter finally proud of him.
