I was out with my friends after school in town shopping when my phone rang. This is the moment I realised that there was something really wrong.
" hello "
" is that Rachel?" The caller asked
" yes why?"
" it's just that your half brother Daniel hasn't been picked up from nursery and crissie and sascha aren't answering their phones and he needs picking up, can you come and pick him up?"
Ten minutes later I was at the nursery and Daniel was saying to the nursery worker. I took him to the bus stop which he looked excited at.
" are we going on the bus?" Daniel asked
" yes we are" I told him as the bus pulled up I paid for him an I used my bus pass. When we got off we crossed the road into the hospitals car park.
" Rachel what are you doing here?" Michael asked.
" crissie or dad didn't pick up Daniel so the nursery called me" I said as we walked inside.
" I'll take you and Daniel to my office and I'll go find your dad"
We went inside Michaels office to only discover mr Hanson and Serina talking about hospital things. I just stared not knowing what to do.
" Rachel what are you doing here with Daniel?" Serina asked me.
" um crissie and dad both didn't pick up Daniel and the nursery called me to pick him up and then Michael told me to wait in his office while he goes to find my dad" I explained
" right ok let's get this sorted I'm sure that hospital meetings can wait." Serina smiled at me so I smiled back. She left the room mr Hanson followed her. Daniel was looking around the room trying to find something to play with. I grabbed some paper and some crayons and placed them on the floor and Daniel and I sat down drawing.
" Rachel I need to talk with you outside" Michael said as he entered
" what is it?" I said leaving the office and shutting the door behind me.
" it's about crissie, she's been involved in a serious rtc" I stared blankly in shock.
