SoraxKairi- The Saltwater Room
I opened my eyes last night and looked out at the shore. Once again, I had dozed off on the beach during the day. When I looked out I saw her in the low light. She was walking down by the bay on the shore. She looked up at the sky, but saw no stars, as it wasn't exactly nighttime yet.
She finally turned around and noticed I was awake. She said nothing, but just smiled her usual smile and sat down on the sand next to me. Despite the fact we were on a beach, she looked cold to me. It WAS January, which would be chilly even in a place like Destiny Islands. Acting on impulse, I grabbed my jacket and put it around her shoulders. Once again, she said nothing, she just closed her eyes and smiled.
Then she finally looked over at me. I could tell she was taking in the scenery. She then picked up a conch shell that was laying beside her. She put it to her ear, and I could tell that she could hear the waves, as if she actually were inside a saltwater room.
After a moment, she put the shell back down, turned to me and smiled. And finally, after moments of silence, she spoke.
"Time together is just never quite enough." she whispered to me, clutching my jacket that was still around her shoulders.
"Huh?" I said, in confusion, wondering why of all things to say, she said that. Not that it didn't make me blush.
"What will it take to make or break this hint of love?" she asked me, cupping my hand in hers.
"What...are you trying to say?" I asked again. It was true, I had strong feelings for the girl for a long time now, but I never thought she actually liked me back. And I didn't know she would tell me like this...
"When we're apart whatever are you thinking of?" she asked, still holding my hand. She put her head on my shoulder, and I could once again feel myself blushing. I didn't feel the need to answer, I knew she wasn't really looking for one.
"So tell me darling do you wish we'd fall in love?" she said, gazing up at me. I stared into her bright blue eyes, and although it was sappy, I knew what I wanted to say.
"All the time." I replied.
"All the time." she repeated.
