Honestly, yeah. I'm jealous.
I find a nice guy, granted, a little wacky and heavy on the conspiracy theories, but a really nice guy. He's kind, funny, sweet, charming, attentive, and really funny.
And really, really infatuated with his partner.
Not his 'partner-partner', his work partner.
I've been dating 'Will' for 8 weeks now. His name isn't really Will, it's Fox, but he likes to call me to call him 'Will'. So I do. Apparently, his parents were part of the 'Hippy-Generation'. It's so cute when he tells me that.
But yeah, 8 weeks. I know her name is Dana Scully. She's even shorter than I am. Her hair is a deep shade of red. She's patient and mostly understanding. A strong woman, but a woman at heart.
She has brothers too. I just can't remember how many. One of them has it in for Will. Apparently my Will is a little bit of a bad influence on Dana. I can't imagine why. It's not like he puts her in any sort of danger.
Bill! That's his name. I think the other one is Carles, Charton, Char-something. Charlie! Wonder if he has a chocolate factory?
He says Dana wears lipstick and her heels to work because it subconsciously reminds her she's still female. 'Lost in a sea of testosterone and black and white suits' Will says. It breaks her away from the rest of the crowd.
She's G-Girl. I've never heard of that superhero before. Maybe it's a nickname Will's given her. Must be some kinda of tradition they have. I've heard him call her that in the middle of the night. Right after he gets a call from his boss.
Other times he's slipped out of bed late at night, once we've fallen asleep. Sometimes I lye awake and listen to him. He must work or something. A few times I've jeard him get real excited about something he's read.
Next thing I know, he's on the phone to Dana. But he never calls her Dana. I do. Somedays, it feels like she's a third party in this.
I wonder how many relationships he's had that have ended badly because of Dana?
I understand that sometimes he feels that she's the only one who truly understands him, and what he's all about. She's his lifeline.
8 weeks, and I know Dana better than Will. I've never met Dana Katherine Scully. But it feels like I've known her my entire life.
I'm not falling for Fox William Mulder, I'm falling for Dana.
