Well, my teacher decided to give us a project during our Finals, and part of it was to write a poem about our favorite book (it's one of those poems, where the teacher is like, "Now class, you have to use anaphora, onomatopoeia, allusion, etc.") And since The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is one of my favorite books, I wrote this poem a few hours ago. And since I really liked it, I was like, "I'll just post it on FanFiction!" Reviews are loved.
Thanks for reading!
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Wearing the ashes of those I have killed
Holding in my hand the hearts of my victims
And smiling sweetly about their end.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Going to school every day with two brothers
Who stand up for the wrongs that I have committed
Because they have not seen the inside of my mind.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Crying the tears of those who can no longer fell
Watching a shard of glass rip into my hand
And sighing at the crimson that drips out.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Falling in love with man I can never have
Who believes that there is still good inside of me
Even though he has been part of my body count.
. . .
I Am
Death
And I
Have
Killed
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Holding a gun in the palm of my hand
Listening to a prophecy predicting the death of a friend
Whose murderer is the pseudonym M-A-R-A.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Who is diagnosed with mental illnesses
And looked down upon by my peers
I am a girl that no one will listen to or believe.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
But to you, I am your helpless daughter
To you, I am your girlfriend that you would die for
And to you, I am the girl that sits beside you in Spanish Class.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
But to you, I am the girl that was in the accident
To you, I am the one who screamed while her friends were crushed
And to you, I am just a normal, sixteen year old girl.
. . .
I am
Death
And I
Have
Sinned
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
I am your worst nightmare in real life
I am the holder of your hopes and dreams
I am the one that will crush them into sand.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
With a breathing family and dead foes
I can wish for your death and it will be inevitable
There is nothing you can do to stop me.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
Who loves to listen to Death Cab for Cutie
And has a lawyer and a psychiatrist
That will never, ever be able to help me as I am a hopeless case.
. . .
I am Death, reincarnated into a sixteen year old girl
I have a face and body and a will in my head
I can mangle your body into nothing and end your life
I am a sociopath and a schizophrenic.
. . .
I Am
Death
And You
Are
