When living in a universe where one's true self had been exposed to a harsh reality, one could not stop wondering how this came to be. Going from living like a normal girl to this life as a Shadowhunter was harder than one would think. The fact that everywhere one went, trouble went as well, was a harsh realization. Since this truth, things had changed drastically and times had begun to feel more normal. More mundane.

Clarissa Fray studied her horrid posture in the mirror, all whilst these thoughts swirled around her head. Just a few months back and she would have been standing in her room, looking herself in the mirror with no such thoughts in her head. She would have wandered the streets of New York, unaware of everything that went on beneath the surface. Instead she was now standing inside the Institute, thinking these thoughts within the walls of Jace's bedroom.

"Hey," a voice whispered from somewhere near the door. She spun around, which made her red curls dance like fire, to find Jace standing perfectly still by the doorway.

It occurred to her that she hadn't even heard him enter. Might have been because he was good at sneaking around silently, but could also be her thoughts speaking so loud from within, she would not hear.

"Hi," she casually said, as casually one could when one's boyfriend stood leaning against a door, looking painfully stunning.

Jace still made girls look twice as he walked by, however it was nothing that no longer seemed to bother her. The fact that he was the one clutching her hand, as they walked past a herd of girls, was most possibly the main reason for her no longer bothering. He was hers by heart, no matter what anyone would claim.

Even the whole brother and sister thing had been exposed as a major lie, something that still made her terribly happy. Presuming she was in love with one whom were told to be of her own blood was scarier than ever imaginable.

"Apparently Alec has something to announce, of rather great importance to," Jace said, pausing briefly before continuing, "Or at least he said it was of great importance."

Clary smiled vaguely, before sauntering over to where he stood. Jace looked down into her eyes, tipped her head up, and kissing her ever so softly on the lips. A kiss that sent shivers of pleasure along her spine, and made her fingers tingle with pure longing. Unfortunately it was to haste for her liking. Silently reaching his grey t-shirt, she drew him closer to her body. This was a move that lightened a small spark in Jace's eyes, and before she even knew it, they were all tongues and touches.

"We should maybe go, if Alec said it was so important," she said, giggling softly as Jace trailed a pattern of kisses across her jawline. She could her him sigh as he scraped his teeth along her fragile skin.

He did not stop, as he tauntingly whispered, "You know what, screw Alec."
