Over Protective
Blair Sandburg rolled his eyes as Jim Ellison walked into the hospital room. Jim carried several bags and Blair's backpack in his arms. He dumped the pile onto the other bed, which luckily, was unoccupied at the time.
"What's all that stuff, Jim?"
"Things to make your stay in the hospital more enjoyable."
"Ah, Jim. I don't want it to be more enjoyable. I just want it over."
"Sorry, buddy. That's not going to happen for about a week, according to the doctor. He wants to make sure that the infection is all cleared up."
Blair made several loud groans. Jim started to empty the bags. Blair saw that Jim had brought his lumbar pillow, his portable CD player, his laptop, his slippers and several other personal items.
"Did you ask the nurses about this, Jim?"
"Yep. All approved. I think I intimidated them."
"I'm sure you did." Blair smiled as Jim brought out a hot plate and the teakettle.
"So? Did you reserve the bed next to mine?"
"Yep."
Blair's smile broadened. It was nice to have an over protective Sentinel and friend.
