Rory sat in her bedroom staring at her charm bracelet, her most prized possession. As she went to pick it up it made a soft noise as the charms bumped into each other. Each had special memories attached, her wedding day, and her children's birth. Even some sad in memory ones for her grandparents, Luke and her mother. She looked in the mirror she was completely grey and wrinkles covered her face, you wouldn't recognise her apart from the eyes.
The bracelet had arrived shortly after her graduation in a small black box with a note inside. Congratulations on graduation. Add to this and create memories love Jess. Although, she hadn't talked to him in little over a year she knew that the thought that went into this only could come from someone that truly loved her.
Rory looked at the charm of an engagement ring, Jess had given it to her on their first wedding anniversary, and it was the first charm he ever added to it. When her daughter Lori was born a small silver L shaped with pink crystals was given to her and a small K when Kaleb was born shortly after. Her whole life was on this and it told her story of her life with Jess.
Her first charm was from her mother, she gave Rory a small graduation hat to show her success at Yale. Rory wore a charm of a small baseball hat to represent Luke, she had gotten it shortly after he had died, and he was never the same after her mother went a couple of years before. There was a series of letters, the two for her children and a G for her sister and a R for Richard and a N for Nick for her two younger siblings from her mother and Luke.
Lorelai, shortly before she died gave her a charm of a heart, and told Rory. Now no matter where you are you'll always have a gift from me. She represented her Grandparents by having two pillars next to each other, referencing that valedictorian speech made all those years ago.
Rory was shaken from her reverie by a sweet kiss placed on the top of her head. She turned to see her husband equally aged smiling at her.
"Every moment of our lives together is represented on that bracelet" smiled Jess
"It will soon be, Lori's life and her daughters, or Kaleb's daughter, it can be the Lorelai legacy"
"Not for a while I hope, I think I like having you around" mocked Jess
"Hmm you're not too bad yourself" joked Rory
He gestured his hand towards her, she took it stood up kissed him sweetly. They walked downstairs to wait for their families. Lori and her husband George and Kaleb and his wife Jennie. These were the future Gilmores, although Mariano in name they had Gilmore blood flowing through them.
For Rory, the bracelet represented a life full of love, and it meant so much to her. But thinking of the people represented... well that is the charm of the bracelet.
