Tiny fingers curl around her finger as she stares down at the little girl who is peeking up at her with eyes that look just like her daddy's. Reaching down, she gently runs her finger down the little girl's cheek and smiles slightly as the baby scrunches up her face before letting out a small whimper. Reaching forward, she lifts the little girl into her arms and makes her way over to the window. She adjusts the little girl until she's resting against her chest before glancing over her shoulder as the room door opens and Elvis makes his way into the hospital room.

'What are you doing out of bed? You're supposed to be resting.' Elvis says placing the bag on the end of the bed.

'I'm fine, if anything I'm just bored of lying in that stupid bed; looking forward to getting little lady home.' Georgie admits as Elvis rests his hands on her hips and peers over her shoulder.

'We really need to sort her name out or else she'll be eighteen and we'll still be calling her little lady.' Elvis says causing Georgie to smile.

'I've actually been thinking about that. What do you think of Poppy Clementine?' She asks tilting her head to the side to glance up at him.

'I think that's perfect for our little princess.' He replies smiling.

'Can you go see when we can get outta here?' She asks feeling his lips against the side of her head.

'Course I can.' He replies. He quietly leaves the room as she turns her attention back to the newborn in her arms.

'How are you so perfect?' She almost whispers. Leaning down, she softly kisses the little girl's head before she hears the door open and turns around as Elvis makes his way back into the room.

'Guess who gets to go home today!' He says causing her to smile.

'Seriously?' She asks and he nods his head.

'There is some paperwork you need to sign but they've said you can leave within the next half an hour.' He replies smiling.

'Hey, what are these tears for?' He asks softly reaching out and brushing his finger across her cheek.

'It's been such a crazy few days… Nothing like I expected.' She admits shaking her head.

'I know. Turns out our little Poppy likes to make an entrance.' He says.

'We're gonna need to clean the bedroom carpet or probably actually replace the carpet.' She replies causing him to smile.

'Mmm… Who would've thought it, our little lady born at home on the bedroom floor.' He says and she laughs.

'Can you take her so I can get dressed?' She asks and he nods his head. She carefully places Poppy in his arms before runs her hand over the little girl's head and smiling.

'I don't know what I done to get so lucky.' She almost whispers before turning and making her way towards the bathroom.

'Are you okay? Comfortable?' Elvis asks as he watches Georgie fasten her seatbelt before glancing in the carseat at Poppy.

'Mmm… Don't think I'd use comfortable to describe how I'll be feeling for the next few days but I'll survive.' She replies causing him to smile. He starts the engine and begins the slow drive home.

'I can't believe we have an actual tiny human to look after.' Elvis says glancing in the rear-view mirror at Georgie.

'Oh I know… We've got our own house, a baby; we're like proper grown ups now.' She replies laughing.

'Have you thought anymore about what you're going to do about work? If you want to go back or not?' He asks.

'I don't know. I love being a medic, Elvis. I love helping people in countries who don't have what we have here but I've seen first hand how dangerous it can be… I nearly lost you.' She says quietly.

'But you didn't.' He replies and she nods her head.

'I know and I couldn't be more grateful that your injuries weren't a whole lot worse but I don't want Poppy to lose her mum. I don't want to leave you to bring up our daughter on your own.' She says.

'You could become a mentor to young medics or else you could stay at home with Poppy? I make enough to look after you both.' He suggests.

'I don't know. I have a few months before I need to make a decision.' She says shrugging her shoulders.

'That's right. You don't need to make any decisions right now.' He replies. They spend the remaining journey in silence, both of them just reflecting everything that has happened over the past forty-eight hours, until Elvis pulls into the driveway and turns the engine off.

'Home sweet home…' He says softly.

'Let's get her inside.' She replies.

'You okay? Comfy?' Elvis asks for quite possible the hundredth time since they arrived home twenty minutes ago.

'Yeah… How perfect is she, Elvis? She's like a little doll.' Georgie says smiling slightly as she stares down at the baby who is sleepily nursing.

'She looks like you.' Elvis says running his finger down the little girl's cheek.

'She's got her daddy's eyes.' She replies as he gently tilts her head to look into her eyes.

'I am so incredibly grateful and proud of you.' He says.

'I couldn't have got through it without you, Elvis. Giving birth on our bedroom floor without any midwifes or anything absolutely terrified me. I was so scared that something was going to go wrong and we were going to lose her… But now that I think about it, it all just seems so right. She spent thirty-eight weeks and five days growing inside me and the first thing she felt when she came into the world was her daddy's hands holding her, protecting her.' She admits.

'I love you.' He says causing her to smile as she reaches up and wipes a tear from his cheek.

'I love you too.' She replies.
