Bracelet
Alex never had anything with her that was only hers. Cloth from normal stores, weapons that could not be identified as hers. Only things that meant nothing to her. She learned that very early: Anything that could make people recognize her was dangerous. So she let everything behind. At her time in Divison this got even more important.
But now, Divison was reformed and under Ryans custody for over a year.
Lying in her own bed, with sleeping Sean next to her, she remembered the last day. It had been her birthday, her second one in freedom.
It had not been a big party, just going out for dinner and then drinking a few beer at the beach, just like last year. But they all had been there, Michael and Nikita with their three-month-old twins, Birkhoff who brought Sonya (They were in a real relationship now. Alex and Nikita had a bet on how long it would last). Owen, still single, but very actively trying to find the right girl, came alone. Ryan brought a woman named Sarah. He seemed to be serious about her, but Alex was not sure if the high school teacher Sarah could stand being the girlfriend of the boss of a top secret governmental agency. But she defintifly nice and they had had a real good time.
At the end of the evening, they all had given Alex a present. She told them she did not want anything, that she just wanted to have a nice evening with all of them. So when they all gave her a little box, she had been really suprised.
The first one she received from Sean. In the box was a beautiful silver bracelet, a silver band with just one pendant, a miniature of the Eiffel tower. Alex had smiled, there had been no need to explain this. She remembered that mission in Paris very well.
The next one came from Birkhoff and Sonya. It was a little silver gun. Alex had to laugh a bit when Birkhoff explained that this acessoire would fit her most.
From Ryan there had been little sheriff's star, also silver. He said it should remembere her that she now worked for the government legally.
Owen had gotten her a little angle, thanking her for all the times she had his back on missions.
Michael gave her a little butterfly-pendant. He told her that for him, a butterfly was a symbol for freedom.
Nikita gave her a little pheonix. Alex smiled at that one, remembering the times Nikita had told her that she was like a pheonix.
Together, Michael and Nikita had gotten her a third one, a little crip, symbolizing Alex's new status as godmother to the twins.
At the end, there had been one last pendant, one that they all had buyed for her. It was a simple A, silver with some diamonds in it, and it was absolutlely beautiful.
Alex had had tears in the eyes when she had clipped all the pendants to the bracelet.
Lying in the bed now, she swore herself to always wear it from now on.. Somebody who did not know her would never understand the meaning of it. But to Alex, this bracelet symbolized her family.
