The girl from Twelve was singing. Her legs were loosely looped around a branch, and the boy from Two was below her. It was just the two of them left, and she had the upper hand. There was no chance that the boy would win, and she knew it. He would not die quickly.

Below them was what looked like a river. In reality. It was an acid that could turn your skin to ash in moments. They both knew this, she had figured it out in the beginning and the boy had realized this after his last Ally had fallen in. as soon as one of them fell from the trees, it would be over.

"Ring around the Rosy,

Pocket full of Posy

Ashes, Ashes

We all fall down!" the girl sang as she jumped around the branches. She looked down at the boy, and smiled sadistically. "What's your name?" she asked grinning gruesomely.

"J-Julius." He stuttered, and the girl kept smiling.

"My name's Cassia, as in Cassius. Seem's kinda funny my namesake killed yours, and I'm going to kill you." She said, still climbing on the branches like a squirrel.

"Kind of." Julius admitted. He was confused, he thought she would just kill him. That's what he would do.

"Don't you love my song? The girl from Eleven taught it to me. I killed her, dipping her arms and legs into the water, watching her dissolve. She had this excellent knife you know." Cassia said, twirling said knife in the fingers. "She thought she was so great, but I showed her, she died screaming." There was some sadistic glee in her voice as she said it.

"Why won't you kill me already?" Julius asked, frustrated.

"Oh, I will. Just sing with me now. Come on, ring around the rosy." She said, sliding down the trunk to where Julius was.

"Pocket full of posy." She pulled the flowers out of her pocket and tossed them into the water below.

"Ashes, Ashes." She laughed as the flowers dissolved. Then, pulling her knife out, she finished the song.

"We all fall down." She giggle, before pushing Julius into the water below. She was still laughing when the hovercraft came to pick her up.

Years later, she had grown up. Her games still haunted her, but she coped. She had two children, Hazelle and Haymitch but her husband had died in a Mining accident. Her children grew up in a world where her song was banned.

When Hazelle was thirteen, she ran away from home. She hated her mother, and all her stories. She knew all about her mother's games, and swore she would never be that insane. Haymitch stayed with his mother.

When her brother was reaped, Hazelle didn't say goodbye. She didn't ever speak to him or her mother again. Perhaps that was why she was never Reaped. She grew up, and her mother passed away. Hazelle found happiness in her new family.

She was a fighter, that was for sure. When her husband was killed in the mines, she went out and found a new job. Her three sons, Gale Rory and Vick, grew up fighting too. When her last child was born, it was a girl. That stumped Hazelle, she had lost so much and she didn't know what to name her daughter.

Remembering her mother's song. She smiled and whispered her name. Posy. Years later, Posy would grow up free. She would sing her grandmother's song, and never learn the story behind it.

this song was discussed in my history class, like 4 months got me thinking about Posy, so i wrote this. two updates in one night!
