Kenpachi sighed as he tried to finish up his paper work late one night after everyone else in his squad had left and gone to bed. The only thing that was on his mind right now was Captain Unohana. It seemed that he could get her out of his head since the last time he had seen her. It felt like that's all he could think or care about, even his fighting took a back seat whenever she was around him. Even at the captains meetings he found his gaze slowly etching away from the head captain just to gaze into her deep blue eyes. Kenpachi was starting to get frustrated with himself, the more he thought about her the less he wanted to do anything but look at her.
"Fuck! Why can't I get that woman out of my head?" Kenpachi shouted startling a few light sleepers who were nearby. Kenpachi was so pissed off at this point he decided to give up on the paper work and just try to go to bed. Tired and with his mind clouded with thoughts of squad 4's captain he tried to make is way down the hall to his room. Unluckily for him he ended up taking a wrong turn and ended up in the squad's cafeteria. Thinking it would be too much of a pain to try and make it across the barracks to his room he got up on one of the tables and went to sleep there.
"Do you think he's dead?"
"Nah, he's probably just asleep." Voices started to fill Kenpachi's head as he slowly began to wake up.
"See I told you he was just asleep." One of the voices pointed out as Kenpachi slowly rolled over to his side. As he slowly sat up Kenpachi realized that his squad members were standing around him looking very entertained.
"Why the fuck are you all standing around? Get to fucking work." Kenpachi shouted at the squad members. As quickly as Kenpachi had began to bark his command at his troops they all realized how much trouble they'd be in if they had stayed around and they quickly dashed out of the room. As soon as everyone was gone, Kenpachi began to observe his surroundings and realized his captains' cloak was covered in ketchup. To his realization it appeared like blood at first glance.
"I guess this is why those idiots thought I was dead." Kenpachi chuckled to himself.
"Hey Kenny! You're awake finally." Shouted Yachiru gleefully.
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Kenpachi asked his vice captain stern fully.
"You looked like you were having a good dream so I thought I'd let you sleep." Responded Yachiru quickly as she climbed onto Kenpachi's lap. "Who were you dreaming about Kenny?" Kenpachi thought about the dream he was just having and blushed red at the thoughts going through his mind. The woman who he had started thinking of more and more had now crept into his dreams last night. IF only he could just be rid of her then he could finally go back to his blood thirsty ways and just fight someone to the death already, but there she was in all of her seeming innocence.
"Kenny, are you paying attention to me? Who were you dreaming about?" Yachiru bluntly asked.
"I was dreaming about fighting Ichigo again." Kenpachi lied as he moved Yachiru and stood up. Yachiru, happy with his answer climbed on his back and smiled.
"Maybe you can fight Ichi and them again soon Kenny." Yachiru said happily.
"Yeah maybe, but right now I've got other people on my mind." Kenpachi mumbled as he walked out of the cafeteria and in the direction of his office.
