A/N Hey this is my Sokyue story! (well one of them) It's gonna be more of a one-shot, just to let you know. ;)
The moon was at it's fullest night, glimmering and reflecting on the water it shined above. The night was calming, and romantic.
Sokka stood by a fountain outside an Earth Kingdom restaurant. Tears fell down his cheeks, as they did every full moon, making him remind himself of Yue.
"Yue... You never came back. You never..." He collapsed into tears. He looked to the full moon with blurry vision, knowing that somewhere, up there, was Yue. He cried to the moon, begging to bring Yue back, but they both knew the answer. Yue was never coming back, and Sokka was trying not to accept that into his twisted heart. He had Suki, but he would never love her the way he had loved Yue.
As he looked toward the sky, he knew he was envisioning Yue coming down, just to kiss him one more time. Just once, to say goodbye. He rubbed his eyes, thinking he was imagining Yue coming from the full moon into his view, but he wasn't.
Yue's silver flowing hair floated through the night sky after her, as she came down to earth. She looked exactly the same as she did when she was on earth before, just a little transparent looking.
Sokka's face lit up with a glimmer of hope as he saw his true love's face coming from the full moon overhead. Yue lowered herself to the ground as she sat by Sokka.
"Sokka, why must you cry to the moon every night? I know that I am gone, but you must keep me alive... In your heart." Sokka wiped away his tears as he hugged Yue.
"It's just so hard... So hard to accept the fact that you're never coming back to earth, ever. For good." Sokka kept crying on her shoulder. Yue took his face in her hands.
"I will always love you, even as I look down from above."
"I will never love someone the same way I loved you..." Sokka had large teardrops falling into the fountain. He gently pulled away from Yue's touch, and looked away.
"Sokka. You must always remember that I will always live in your heart, and you know that." Yue patted Sokka, as he was leaned over.
"I... I just want you to be happy. I know that you did what you did to save the moon." Sokka's voice quivered as he turned to Yue with bleary eyes. Yue looked straight into Sokka's eyes, gazing right into the gentle pools of blue that lay on his face.
"I am happy. For me to be happy, I need you to know that I still am here. Still alive." Yue placed her hand on Sokka's shoulder.
"I know you are still alive, but just not..." Sokka burst into tears as the event went Yue died came into his mind. How she was never coming back to earth as a person, only a spirit that would just go back to the sky again.
"Sokka. Listen to me." Yue touched Sokka's chin and lifted it so he was looking at her. "I love you." Yue leaned in to kiss Sokka. Sokka kissed her back.
"I love you too." He said as they pulled away. "I will keep you alive, in my heart. I will be strong." Even though his voice had a hint of fear in it, he was sure he would keep his promise.
"Good... Now Sokka. I must go..." Yue pulled from Sokka.
"No! Yue, don't leave me again!" Sokka pulled her arm down and pressed his lips against hers. "Please, don't... Don't leave me... Again."
"I'm sorry Sokka, it is my duty to go back. I love you..." Yue stared at Sokka as she floated back into the sky towards the moon. Sokka's eyes were filled with tears once again as he was left alone in the moonlight.
