One Sweet Day

Summary: Sasuke returns to the leaf village after he hears some sad rumors about a certain pink haired girl. one Shot

A/N: I know it's short but it's worth reading. At least in my opinion.

The funeral for Sakura was massive. The streets were packed with people bearing flowers and candles. Each single one of them walked slowly and silently, some were sobbing quietly, others just stared a head emotionless.

Despite the countless times he told himself that he would not watch, there he was, back in Konoha, hiding like a thief from the police. He was hiding behind a pillar along the parade route, and as long as he didn't make any sudden movement, no one would ever know he was there.

He couldn't see Sakura. Not yet, anyway. He waited for everyone to pay their respects and watched as people started to go back when they were finished with their good-byes.

He watched with a heavy heart as everyone left and the only one who was left behind was a tall blond boy. Naruto stood all by himself staring at her tomb. Sasuke noticed how Naruto shoulders trembled as he cried.

Finally, Naruto left and he was able to come out of his hiding place.

As he walked towards her white tomb, his legs seemed heavier than the usual. His heart beat seemed to cease and the air seemed to vanish.

Here Lies

Sakura Haruno

To read her name carved into the white stone was… wrong. She shouldn't have died…

Sorry, I never told you, all I wanted to say.
Now it's too late to hold you. '
Cause you've flown away, so far away.
Never, Had I imagined, yeah, living without your smile.

"Who's going to look out for that dobe now?" he asked softly as he eyed the white tomb, "You just couldn't stay away, couldn't you? No… you had to go

and try to prove your point!" his voice rose, "point taken… you're still weak,"

He sighed… what was the point? There wasn't going to be an angry Sakura shouting back at him… ever again.

Darling, I never showed you.
Assumed you'd always be there.
I took your presence for granted.
But I always cared
And I miss the love we shared.

He really had screwed up everything. He had thought that he could still fix things, but now, there was nothing to fix. Only his broken heart. It felt like one of the few pieces of his heart vanished, forever.

However, her memory was always present. Not one single day he had forgotten her or that baka.

"I will never forget you…" he said sadly, "After I kill Itachi, I will make it up to you, you'll see," he smiled, "I'll make you proud… Sakura,"

She had loved him until the very end and all he did was to hurt her. Sasuke closed his eyes tightly as his hands caressed the white tomb.

"Just between me and you…" he whispered, "I loved you too,"

Said we'd be forever
Said it'd never die
How could you love me and leave me
And never say good-bye?
