Reflections

Emerald eyes looked over the mangled remains of his friend. He couldn't believe that someone who barely knew themselves, much less the azure reploid, would sacrifice themselves so that he could fight another day. He knew the crimson hunter as a powerful warrior, but nothing else. There wasn't time, but he still regretted never getting to know his friend as whom they were. To think that the first Maverick would be the one to save the first Reploid is a true twist of fate…

"Why did you…? You only knew me as a B-class hunter, nothing really special…"

-Flashback-

"Not so bad for a B-class. You have a lot more skill than people think."

"First time I've heard that."

"Really, you do. Your only problem is that you hesitate. Try not to think so much."

"It baffles me how you can think so little in a fight. You just go in and slice the enemy in half."

"Heh. Unlike you, I don't know anything about myself prior to waking up to see Dr. Cain and you."

"I can see how that would help."

"Still, your hesitation can be a good thing. Makes you more appealing to humans."

"Have you seen all the screaming fan girls yet?"

"Pah! They're nothing! Most of them just wish that there was a human that could defend them, and I'm the closest thing to that. Some only want attention. You have the true fans."

"Why are you being so humble?"

"Because I do whatever I want to."

-End of flashback-

"You always encouraged me to go on… You even humbled your massive accomplishments just to make me feel better… It's like you became a totally different robot that day you awoke with us. It's almost scary to think that the whole time I was friends with a psycho killing machine. But you were different. You were my only true friend. A friend that will not die in vain!"

The azure reploid made up their mind. It was time to take down their former commander, Sigma. For the good of the world, and Zero.
