A Kingdom Hearts Christmas

Riku blinked. Were his eyes playing tricks on him? Did snow get in them or something? He did a double take in front of the gift store.

Oh, no. He wasn't imagining things. Sora was walking through town square with a bow on his head.

"Hey, Riku!" Now the brunette was running toward him, the bright red ribbon bobbing up and down with each step.

"Uh..hey, Sora…Why are you wearing a bow on your head?"

Sora grinned. "I can't tell you 'til we get to Kairi's house!"

"And why is that?" Riku sighed.

"Cuz we wanna surprise you!"

"O…kay…" The older teen shook his head. "Wait here. I have to pick up your and Kairi's gifts really quick."

"Sure, buddy!" chirped his friend.

Why does he have to be so SMUG?! Riku wondered. Drives me crazy…

A few minutes later, he walked out of the store and joined Sora in walking to Kairi's house.

Does he realize how stupid he looks with that thing? Wait-Argh! Stop thinking about it. You'll find out soon enough.

Upon arrival at the mayor's mansion…

"Kairi! We're here!"

The door opened to reveal just the girl they were looking for.

"Merry Chri-OH MY GOSH! Sora! It's just what I wanted!" The redhead practically knocked the boy over with a flying hug.

Riku was still baffled. "Eh…guys? Care to tell me what's going on?"

Kairi blushed, let go of Sora and smiled. "Let's go inside first."

A few more minutes later…

"Now will you tell me what's going on?" Riku asked, sipping his hot chocolate.

Sora laughed and took the bow off of his head. "Well…the thing is.."

"We wanted you to be the first to know that me and Sora are now officially dating!" Kairi interjected.

Riku stared the two. He gave them such a look that Sora and Kairi got worried.

"Something wrong, Riku?"

"Are you okay?"

Suddenly, Riku threw his head back and laughed, long and loud. He laughed so hard he fell over onto the floor, holding his sides with mirth. Now it was Sora and Kairi's turn to be confused.

"What's so funny?"

The silver-haired boy tried to catch his breath. "Y-you guys thought tha-that this was a surprise?! You gotta be kidding me!"

"I don't get it…" murmured Sora.

"What do you mean, Riku?" asked Kairi.

"Oh, come on! Selphie, Tidus, Wakka and I have all been waiting for this for AGES! We were about to give up on the hope of you two ever getting together!"

Sora and Kairi thought about it for a moment, and then couldn't help but laugh, too.

The trio didn't notice two transparent figures in the corner.

They look so happy.

What do you mean, Roxas? Are you not happy?

The blond boy smirked. No, I'm fine, Namine…just not used to it, I guess.

Are you sure you're okay? inquired the girl.

Yeah. Don't worry about me. But look-Here Roxas pointed up.

Namine blushed. Mistletoe? In the corner?

Works for me. And with that, they kissed.
