A/N: Written for a Secret Santa on NarutoForums for my beloved Matty. I know it seems sappier than Shuuhei probably would, but ha! How can you tell me it's OOC when we really don't know anything about him? Except that he's a perv and that he has a crush on Rangiku. 3
Anyways, it's pretty short, sweet, and to the point. But I tried Matty!
She was sitting there again, with Kira, drunk no doubt, and yelling something about Ichimaru's eyes. She says things like "I could care less if he dies!" And I wish that she would be more sober when she did, because I know she doesn't mean it. I see her leaning against a wall, bottle of sake in her hand, and I know she's thinking about him.
What I wouldn't give to be the one she's thinking about. Or better yet, the one to sweep her off her feet and make her forgot all about that traitor. Everything about her is perfect, from the way that her nose wrinkles up when her captain tells her to do paperwork, to the serious face she gets when she's about to fight. But now her perfect form and grace is ruined by the sake she downs to forget him. Her face turns red, and she sways, which doesn't suit her, even if it is a little adorable.
She was the reason that I strived to become part of the Gotei 13. I had seen her fight with her previous captain, and right away I was captivated. I even tried to become 10th Division captain, but I failed. Still, I decided I would become a high ranking officer. Then was she would notice me. She was there at the ceremony naming me a vice-captain. And as I followed my captain away, she smiled and nodded at me. It was enough to make all the hard work it took to get there worth it.
"Hey, Shuuhei, come join us!" I hear her voice call to me.
I turn to see her looking at me with half-lidded eyes. I agree and start striding towards her. She's talking to Komamura now, but I'm not listening. When I walk up she asks me about his mask, and I bullshit an answer up. She sounds happy about him not wearing it anymore, so I say it's nice and that I've gotten used to his face. Truth be told, the guy still scares the shit out of me. I turn to see Kira lying on the floor…in his underpants. I hear her calling to those ryoka, Kurosaki and whatshername. I try to catch her attention to ask her if Kira is at least still alive. But when I turn around to look, she's busy taking another swig of her drink, bringing her further away from her memories, and further away from me.
Just cause it was written for Matty doesn't mean I don't want reviews from all of you who read it!
Also, sorry if it seemed too GinRan-ish. It's my Bleach OTP, so I couldn't help it.
