PROLOGUE: LEGEND OF THE THREE BROTHERS

In the Time Before Time... There was three brother spirits. Mata Nui the Eldest, Mikhu Nui the Mid-Brother, and Maka Nui the Youngest. Back then, we, The Matoran, were a wrathful and untrustworthy people. Not a day pasted without blood being spilt. So the brothers left the Soul Realm in order to help us leave this cycle of violence.

Mikhu Nui gave us Unity, and the will to trust each other.

Maka Nui gave us Duty, and the art of crafting Kanohi, Masks of Power.

Then Mata Nui gave us Destiny, and all the values we still follow today.

In gratitude for what these brothers done, we named our home in Mata Nui's honor. As well as Maka and Mikhu's names for the first Turaga. For the first time in the island's history, there was an era of peace. But it will not last for very long.

Over the decades, the younger brothers slowly began to be forgotten by us. For we had taken their gifts for granted and always had seek for Mata Nui's guidance. Soon they came up with a plan to get back at their older brother. By using the very shadow he had cast over them. With a piece of his hated brother's shadow, a stash of back ore, and the light of a full moon. Maka Nui forged the Krakhan, the Mask of Shadows.

But when it's time to test it, the mask didn't as planned. For it not just allows one to control shadows, but corrupts those who wear the mask. Maka Nui, now calling himself Makuta went on a ramage. Driven mad by the mask's powers, he murdered Mata Nui, forced Mihku Nui to flee, and sent the island into chaos. Plagues spread, crops withered, Rahi attacked, and storms ravaged our home. But... there is still hope.

For before Mata Nui took his last breath, he told the Turaga that he had sired three sons and daughters. Each blessed with the power to control the elements. In 1,000 years, they will arrive to the island to be trained and raised by their descendants. To defeat his insane brother and bring him back to life.

Now Mata Nui rests in a tomb deep beneath Kini Nui Temple... Waiting for his children to fullfill their destiny.

AUTHOR'S NOTE Sorry for inconvenience! I was trying to get rid of an review of mine but accidentally deleted the story instead. Since WHY YOU CAN'T DELETE YOUR REVIEWS!? *Ahem* Anyways, the review I was trying to remove was intended to an author's note and accidentally wrote it as a review. (Also I thought it was some Author's Note Box thing, yeah that was dumb)

As in result, the original prologue was deleted with it since I didn't kept the document so... Yeah, I got to completely rewrite this. Welp, that's what happens when you don't think ahead. :(
