Chapter One

"Yumi, are you up?" her mother asked from downstairs. "Alumina is here!"
Yumi Hiarsho sat up. Her hair was messy with tangles and her eyes still had crust in them. Quickly getting ready, she headed downstairs to see her friend and her Eevee, Silver. Silver was a shiny Eevee and mute, so he could not speak.
"Hey, Yumi." Alumina said, or just Al for short. "You ready?"
"You bet!" Yumi said as she grabbed her bag. "Lets go. Bye Mom." The two friends headed out the door and to the professor's, where they would meet Bianca and Cheren.
Silver jumped up onto Al's shoulder and both smiled.
"So, what are you going to do?" Al asked Yumi- she never really did get if she wanted to do Musicals or Gyms.
"I want to get all the Gym badges," Yumi said, excited.
"So do I. Lets do it together!" Al said as they saw the lab. Both ran inside to be greeted by the Professor and their friends; Cheren and Bianca.
Silver and Al watched as everybody will chose their Pokemon. "Ladies first," Al said, winking at Yumi. She nodded and let Bianca go first.
"Oohh!" She picked up the Snivy. "You're so adorable!"
Yumi looked at the Tepig, who kept his eyes on her. "Do you wanna come with me?" The Tepig nodded and ran over to Yumi.
Oshawott looked up Cheren. "No matter, I wanted Oshawott from the beginning."
Yeah right, both Al and Yumi thought.
"Take this," said Professor Juniper. "It's a Pokedex. It'll scan every pokemon you encounter and record data." She handed one to everybody. They were about the size of a cellular phone and slid up when it scanned. They each scanned their pokemon.
"Thank you, Prof. Juniper," Al said.
Prof. Juniper also handed out five pokeballs. "These will help you to catch wild pokemon."
"But first, you have to weaken it." Cheren said, acting smart.
"Now have fun," Prof. Juniper wished as all the kids went out the door, and then were stopped by Al's mom.
