MIDDLE SCHOOL SUCKS
A young, pink-haired girl with lively green eyes strolled into middle school. Her name was Moka Akashiya, and she was looking forward to making lots and lots of new friends. She looked at her schedule; her next class was right around the corner. She strolled in, happily humming to herself as she took a seat. She turned and noticed a boy of about the same age sitting next to her. She turned to him and introduced herself.
"Hi! My name is Moka Akashiya. What`s yours?"
"Otsushi Mika." Said the boy, holding out his hand. Moka shook, and then searched her mind for something to say to keep the conversation going. She blurted out the first thing that she grabbed onto without thinking.
"Do you believe in monsters?" Otsushi looked at Moka strangely.
"No. Do you?"
"N-no! Of course I don`t! What a silly question!" Moka stuttered out in a desperate attempt to salvage the situation.
Alas, her words fell on deaf ears.
"Oh my gosh… You believe in monsters!" Otsushi started laughing. When other students turned and gave him questioning looks, he said "She still believes in monsters!" while pointing at Moka and the others soon joined in, saying things like "Monsters aren`t real, stupid!"
That`s not true… Moka thought meekly as the harassment continued. I`m real… She fondled the Rosario that held her other self in check. If she could only take it off, she`d show them! But she couldn`t. She just had to grin and bear it.
As the years passed, it didn`t get any easier. Kids constantly teased her about her belief in her own kind. Even when new kids came to the school, they quickly learned to stay away from the girl with pink hair or else they would get treated the same way. It was a lonely life, and every day she started to believe the things that the kids said more and more. She cried herself to sleep at night, and she slowly but surely started to hate humans. She wanted to leave the human world and never come back.
Her middle school graduation was the happiest day of life, and not even her family not being there could dampen her mood. She was going to a monster high school, so she wouldn`t have to interact with humans anymore.
But…
The feeling of loneliness wouldn`t leave her, and she just couldn`t shake it off. So she ignored it, right up until the time when she ran into that boy on the road.
