Chapter One: Prologue

"Tommy, please!" Kimberly pleaded with tears streaming down her face. " I need to talk to you about something."

"What is it that you wanted to talk to me about?" he asked coldly.

"Please, Tommy, I want you to come back!" she insisted.

"Why should I?" he countered. 'I'm perfectly happy right now with Kat. Besides, you were the one who wanted to break up with me, not the other way round."

"Tommy, you're not making me go on my knees, are you?" she asked.

"I like to see you try."

"TOMMY!" she practically shouted.

He glanced at his watch. "Be quick, I'm needed at Kat's house. I have something on."

How was she going to break it to him?

She took a deep breath. " Tommy, I'm pregnant."

He looked taken aback, but regained himself quickly. "Kimberly, the child's not mine, is it?"

"It's yours."

"It could be any other guy's. You slept with other guys haven't you? I suggest you go and do a DNA check."

"Tommy!" she shouted, but he had already turned and walked away. "It's your, I check it already," she whispered.

A week after she had given birth to her baby girl, she was able to take her home. She kissed the side of her daughter's head gently.

"I have no idea what to call you, sweetie," she murmured, glancing at Jason and Trini as they helped her bring her bags into her apartment.

"Thanks."

"So, what have you decided to call her?" asked Trini, sitting on the sofa.

"I have no idea," admitted Kimberly.

Jason smiled and touched the baby's head. "Hello, baby."

"I was thinking if I should call her Alyssa," admitted Kimberly after awhile.

"That's a great name," assured Trini with a smile. "She'll grow up to be a great gymnast, I bet. Just like her wonderful mother."

Jason chuckled and wrapped his arms around his wife. "Of course."

They then made small talk before going back to their apartment.

That night later, Kim was placing her daughter in her cot with a smile. Her precious darling and only reminder of Tommy.

She placed a kiss on Alyssa Hart's head and touched her hand.

She had eyes just like hers.

Kimberly watched her daughter sleep and a thought came into my mind, a thought that Tommy would one day return and take her daughter away from her.

She shook her head and vowed to herself that she would never ever allow that to happen. She would do anything to stop him from bringing her child away from her.

Kimberly then watched her daughter sleep, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

However, she still couldn't shake off the thought that Tommy would come back and do whatever he could to take Alyssa away from her.

Kimberly smiled and leaned in closer to her baby. "I love you, Alyssa."

And I would never let anyone hurt you, darling, when you grow up. You've been hurt too much without the love of your father.
