It was supposed to be a boy. It was their first child... and it was special. He assumed it was going to be a boy.
"He's almost here," he coached his wife.
The head came. The shoulders followed. The rest of the body soon slid out of his wife like a child going down the water slide.
There was a moment of shocked silence.
"What's wrong," she whispered frightened; terrified.
"It's nothing," he said handing her the baby, "See for yourself"
He handed her the baby. It had beautiful hair as if spun from the finest silk. It had ocean blue eyes and it had a vagina.
"This baby's a girl," she whispered, "Look all the things I said were valid I don't know-"
"Nowhere does it say the child would be a boy," he assured his wife, "I just fear now."
"Why," she asked him.
"Because," he said, "A Daughter you need to protect whereas a son you need to teach to be a man. If anyone was to hurt Her I would rip off their head and feed it to them"
Soon the whole family was asleep. Sarah-Marie had a long trip down the birth cannel and her parents were exhausted too.
