You owe me chapter 1- childhood friends, the 'cool guy' and the 'nerd'?

knock knock knock

"is soul in?" (a/n- in this one they don't live together.) a little 8 year old girl with sandy blonde hair asked.

"he is maka, but he is currently having a piano lesson" said soul's older brother Wes. Soul evans was one in a long line of many musicians and as a result, he had to have music lessons in pretty much every existing instrument.

"ok, just tell him I called k?" maka said.

"will do maka, I'll tell him to knock for you as soon as he is finished." Wes replied.

"thanks!" maka called back as she skipped off. Soul and her had been friends since she was about 7. He was three years older than her but that didn't bother them. He could be a bit funny at times when around others but not often and other than that he was a great friend, little did maka know then that as they got older they started being gradually more distant. Sometimes not seeing each other for about three months or more.

Timeskip of about two years

Maka's pov

I walked up to the big doors and knocked. Wes opened the door and smiled at me

"hi maka. I'm guessing you're here for soul? He is busy at the moment but I'll tell him to knock for you when he has finished his guitar lesson ok?"

"thanks wes" I said as I walked off. I tried to look happy but I think I might have failed as I looked back to see him watching me with a frown on his face. I wanted to look happy but the truth is that it was really getting to me that he always seemed to be so busy.

The next day at school

I was on my way to steins class when I saw him walking in my direction. Soul. "hey soul! Where have you been? You didn't knock yesterday!" the answer I got made my heart stop…..
