He'd done it. He'd actually done it. And already, Remus felt that creeping guilt, that nagging doubt in the back of his mind. No, he told himself. He did the right thing, Dora would thank him for it later. He had already done the unthinkable… his kind wasn't supposed to breed. It was wrong. And because of him… a child, an innocent soul might be burdened with the same curse that weighs on him every day of his life. And she… well. It went without saying that she deserved better. She acted like she didn't care about the disgusted looks she got, the disbelieving snorts, the raised eyebrows… the scoffs… but Remus knew she did. And it was his fault. No, she deserved better, Remus told himself. She certainly didn't deserve that. What's been done, has been done, and he needed to move on.
He tried to ignore the tear that spilled from his eye and rolled down his cheek, but Remus J. Lupin could not help but cry as he walked alone down the cobblestone streets, hair dampened by the persistent rain.
`` He'd done it. He'd actually done it. And Nymphadora Tonks didn't know what to do with herself. When he'd told her, the first reaction was shock. Denial. Refusal to believe he'd actually leave her, especially with a baby on the way, he wouldn't leave her to raise the child on her own. He couldn't! But he did. Remus had then proceeded to try to explain the unspeakable act, but Tonks wouldn't hear it. How could she? The love of her life, the man she treasured more than anything else, her second half, was leaving.
"Get out," She had said. "If you're leaving… just… get out."
She had seen the sorrow on his face as he turned to go, and her heart longed to scream for him to stay.
But she stayed silent.
And he left.
And it was over.
And Tonks was left there, nothing but the silence to heed her bitter weeping.
