Author's Note: This is for Rowena DeVandal's one thousand words or less August challenge. anyway uhm I hope this isn't so bad considering my mediocre writing skills but hey if you enjoy it then good for you. I know it's weird that Harry and Hermoine are his friends and they let Malfloy beat Ron up. XD just go with it please.

"I can't believe you thought that was a good idea!" Hermoine exclaimed as she sat next to Ron's bed in the hospital wing.
Ron groaned and rolled his eyes. "I had to stick up for myself eventually Hermoine and I decided to do it." Ron knew she would react this way but he just couldn't stand Malfloy bullying him anymore.
Hermoine began to rant as soon as Harry decided to appear. Ron grinned and waved at Harry. Harry however wasn't as pleased to see his friend considering he was beaten up pretty badly.
Harry had a dark look on his face and he began to speak. "What were you thinking Ron?! I mean no offense but you against Malfloy; the bully who's been beating you up since you got to Hogwarts." Ron was starting to regret standing up to Malfloy. He ended up in the hospital wing on top of that instead of making him look brave it was going in the opposite direction and it was making him look like a bloody moron.
Ron's face was already red in both embarrassment and in fury. "I was thinking that it might have made me look brave for once in my life." As soon as he said this both Harry and Hermoine gave Ron looks filled with pity. Ron sighed and closed his eyes wondering if he would always let himself be bullied and if he would ever be able to stick up for himself and be victorious in doing so. Hermoine quickly regained her usual self and began to snap at Ron once more.
"Well your plan to make yourself look brave resulted in quite a failure now didn't it?" Ron glared at Hermoine and his face turned crimson red in anger.
"Will you stop pointing out my mistakes and for once in your life just leave me alone?!" Hermoine's face went blank in shock but it regained its usual color as quick as she got up to leave.
"Fine then I'll just leave." She glared at Ron and then turned around and walked out of the hospital wing fuming with rage. As usual Harry was stuck in the middle of one of their arguments. Ron looked at him in hope of finding refugee from Hermoine's reaction. Harry saw that look in his eyes and began to shake his head.
"I'm not taking anybody's side in this lover's quarrel." Ron's jaw dropped and he turned scarlet this time in both anger and embarrassment. He gave Harry a nasty look and then looked away. "No need to give yourself a heart attack Ron, it was a mere joke."
Ron opened his mouth and said in a bitter tone, "You're not funny."
