Teaching the Past in the Present
Ten years had passed since she has left the feudal age along with her friends and her first love. The Shikon no Tama was completed and purified, her mission was completed.
Kagome eyed the little house that was build over the well that was once her gate to the feudal age, her friends and her enemies.
She never knew what ever happened to the jewel after she left, nor did she know what happened to her friends. She had hoped that her two friends, the pervert monk Miroku and the demon slayer Sango, had gotten together and were married.
Her mind wandered of to Shippou, the baby fox demon they had met during their journey. How did he look grown up? Did he find a mate? Did he have children? Was he still alive during in the present?
Would she recognise him?
A soft sigh escaped her lips before she turned away from the well house. "It's all in the past now" She told her self softly as she walked away.
However the sight of the Goshinboku caught her gaze, her eyes travelled to the mark on the tree's bark where the hanyou Inuyasha had been pinned to for fifty years. She could remember her meeting with the hanyou as if it was yesterday.
Shaking her head she pushed the memories away. "I better get inside and help Mama with cooking" She muttered to herself as she left the tree behind.
"Tadaima!" She called closing the door behind her. She heard Souta and Mama welcome her with the usual "Okaeri nasai Nee-chan/ Kagome"
Yes, Kagome was twenty-five years old and still lived at home. She loved the shrine too much to leave it, however to stay at the shrine Kagome had to travel for an hour each day to get to her school.
Not that she minded at all she loved her job as a teacher, yes Kagome Higurashi the girl who travelled with a monk, a demon slayer, a baby fox demon and a hanyou, who had fought creatures that in the modern days where only myths, was a teacher.
After her feudal adventure she had thrown herself in to her studies and in to art, well after she found out she had a talent for it that is.
Tomorrow the new school year would start; she was excited and afraid at the same time. Would her students like her? Would they behave?
The principal of the school, a kind man in his early fifties, told her to relax and be herself, and he told her to set some basic rules in her classroom to keep total chaos at bay.
Running a slender hand through her obsidian hair she dropped her suitcase with documents and files on her bed. Grabbing some comfortable clothes and putting them on she went down stairs to help her mother.
Later that night she entered her bedroom again and allowed herself to drop ungracefully on to her bed. She hugged her pillow to her chest and fell asleep dreaming about her first class tomorrow.
