A/N OK, this is my first little fic, so please read and review! I really want feedback on how I could make this better. Now, I haven't decided just WHO her husband is, so tell me who you think it should be in your reviews! ::hint, hint:: I'll post the next one when I have 15 reviews, good or bad. This excludes flames.

The Light Inside

Ginny looked down at her hands, wondering what she had done to deserve this. The last beating had been more… thorough than usual, and the fresh bruises ached terribly.

She almost wished that she WOULD die from it, sometimes. Heaven help her, the Goddess would never forgive her if she did it on purpose.

She is not scared to die

Best things in life drive her to cry

"What can I do?", she wondered aloud, in mental and physical agony. Suddenly a window burst open in the wind, and a misty fog swirled in. It began braiding itself into the shape of a woman, more glorious and terrible than anything Ginny had ever seen. Instinctively, she dropped to her knees just as the Goddess completely materialized.

"You need not ask me what you must do," replied the Goddess, "for you already know. Only you must look inside yourself. See what you know." And with this, she gently leaned over and plucked a strand of hair from her own head and handed it to Ginny. It wove itself into a braided locket of molten gold, and wrapped around her neck. When Ginny looked up to thank her, she was gone.

Standing, she closed the swaying shutters, and wrapped herself in a blanket. Her husband would not be home tonight, and for that she was grateful.

She's led to believe
That it'll be OK
Look at your face
Scarred in dismay
But times have changed
And so have you
I think I'd rather
Crucify than learn

Ginny woke up in the morning, and stretched her arms above her head. "Ouch!" she yelped, thinking 'bad idea!' Then she remembered last night. "Could it really be?" she whispered to herself, and brought her hand slowly to her neck. Yes, it was still there. Only now, it appeared to be golden blond hair-weave. Clutching the necklace, she struggled to her feet, and reached to out her glasses on.

When she placed them on the bridge of her nose, the first thing she noticed was the large crack in one of the lenses. As she took them off to examine them, she realized that she could see perfectly. She brought them up to her eyes, and lo and behold, he vision was again blurred.

Confused, she set them down on the bedside table, and reached for her razor and soap. 'I'll figure it out in the shower', she murmured to herself.

I'd like to take you down
And show you deep inside
My life, my inner working to smell
And lack of inner pride
To touch upon the surface
Is not for what it seems
I take away my problems
But only in my dreams

Ginny sighed on bliss as the almost-too-hot water ran down her back and stomach. A muggle rock song she had once heard once again floated to her ears, set on the wings of flight by the Goddess, as she smiled at the mother-to-be of her chosen one. Once again, Ginny smiled and whispered the two words to herself that had kept her alive these past 8 years. "Be strong."

Take so much away from inside you
Makes no sense, you know he can't guide you
He's your fucking shoulder to lean on
Be strong
