The Hogwarts Jaguar is one of the most mysterious animals known to the wizarding world. The actions of this creature have given it a place in infamy. When asked about it, students remain silent with puzzled looks on their faces. The poor children are most likely afraid to speak about it.

The Hogwarts Jaguar was first seen in 1988. In case my dear readers don't know, the Shrieking Shack was built that same year. Coincidence? For the next seven years, strange noises were heard from the Hogsmeade building. Another odd coincidence is that the Jaguar only appeared to prey around the time of the full moon. Defenseless deer seem to be its favorite snack.

In 2008 (Also Harry Potter's freshman year at Hogwarts), the Hogwarts Jaguar struck again. Instead of remaining outside the school, appears to have a vendetta against Remus Lupin. Lupin, then the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts and coach of the Gryffindor PeeWee Quidditch team, reported that the Jaguar tore apart his office. He also gave a description of the animal. It has soft paws that cause it to trip while running. In that same school year, the Jaguar killed Peter Pettigrew, a man believed to be dead until Mr. Lupin found his freshly dead corpse in the Forbidden Forest.

At the time of this article, the Jaguar has not been heard of since Pettigrew's corpse reappearing. Mr. Lupin, who seemed to be the expert on the creature, could not be reached for comment. Lupin and his best friend, Sirius Black, were killed in the Hogwarts Battle of 2010. However, the Jaguar is a suspect in the recent disappearance of the Death Eater, Lucius Malfoy.
