Forget the bed that you're used to, come into my arms.
It seemed to Chrome that she spent her life in bed.
It may not be so, but to Chrome, many good things happened to her while she was in bed.
Many lifetimes ago, while she was still Nagi, she was in a hospital bed, much like this one, losing her life.
She is surely bound for death, who can live without organs?
She was more than ready. Everyday is like a job to her. Something that she needs to do. She needs to breathe, eat, drink, and be around people. When all she wants to do is do nothing, and finally fade into nothingness.
She wasn't really saving cat, not really. She was already thinking that she is at home, getting ready for bed.
That's why when the vehicle hit her, and she fell down and felt the road underneath her, she just felt that hey, someone already took the mattress from her bed.
When she woke up, she was numb. Sadly, she was not deaf.
"A deal's supposed to be closed when you called! What happened now?" Her father's voice.
Her mother's squeaky voice followed after, "She's gravely injured, and the doctors said she might not make it."
"So? What the hell are we still doing here? "
Until finally, blessedly, she couldn't hear them anymore.

There was only one reason why her organs would finally cease to exist. With that realization, she felt that she will surely die now, there's no escape, this time.
Then he came, held her head from the bed. She can feel his long hands cradling the back of her head. Then his voice telling her that she needs to be free, she needs to be alone; she needs to live again by her own choice.
She opened her eyes quickly, thinking he is saving me again, her eyes cannot open all the way through, hoping to see dark blue hair.
Before she lost consciousness, she thought wait, I saw black hair.

Now, limping after Kusakabe, here in Melone base, Chrome thinks that very soon after this, she might be back to another bed, or if she couldn't make it, the floor of this base.
She never did rise from her bed on her will before.
When she was Nagi, she rose from her bed because her parents expected her to.
Before this future craziness began, she gets up in the morning for Mukuro-sama.
Just a few hours ago, she rose from her new bed because the Cloud man told her that they need her for this.
After this, Chrome thought, I must find another reason to get up from bed.
She was never sure of her future, never knew exactly if the next day will come.
Her life is about wanting a bed that she will not get up from.
But, God, this life is too fucking long.
