Fireworks burst overhead. Red, blue, green, silver. Jace's hand intertwined with the girl next to him. Her red hair hang loosely around her shoulders and her green eyes stared intently at the sky as the fireworks popped above them.
Clary glanced over at her golden boy and noticed him staring at her. She smiled and he returned it with one of his huge grins. "I don't see why we had to come out and see these. I mean it was nice of you but I could lay in bed all night, just staring at you. You're like my own personal firework that I get to enjoy every day."
Her breath hitched and she just stared at him with so much love she felt her heart would burst any second. She reached up onto her tippy toes and placed her free hand on the side of Jace's face, cradling it in her small hand. Gently, she pulled him down, letting her lips brush his teasingly. And as the clock overhead chimed at midnight and the cheers and 'Happy New Years' were said, crashed her lips to his.
Clary was the first to pull away and faintly in the darkness she saw him pout softly. "Later," she whispered into his ear, her breath tickling the small bristles by his ear. "Happy New Year, Jace." She said, kissing his cheek softly.
As the fireworks came to a close and everyone was now either making out on the benches or departing for home with their children in tow.
Taking Jace's hand in her own, Clary pulled him away from the dispersing crowd and towards the road where many taxis were waiting to take people home. Silently, they climbed into the back of one and gave the man the directions to the institute.
Still hand in hand, they crept up towards Clary's bedroom which they now shared. All the way up, even in the elevator, they never let go of each other, their hands always still clasped together.

In the darkness of their room, Jace became drawn to Clary's eyes which were luminous in the pale moon's light. The door clicked softly behind Clary as she pushed it close and leant against it, letting go of his hand. His hands wound around her torso, pulling her close against his body, until almost every inch that was bare was touching. With ease, he lifted her up and carried her over to the bed where he laid her down gently. His lips touched hers, soft at first but lust, greed and desire took over and the kisses deepened. His hands trailed down her body as did hers on his.
"Happy New Year, Clary." Jace whispered as they lay under the blankets, side by side.
"Happy New Year, Jace." She responded quietly as her eyelids slipt closed.
