Cordelia Chase was not the kind of girl who was easily scared. She had seen vampires, demons, and a whole host of various other uglies since she had gotten involved with Buffy the Weirdo and her little band of freaks, and more recently working with Angel. Even before that, before she was aware of this whole other world, she had never been one to shy away from a challenge, never one to back down from a fight. She was Cordelia Chase, Queen C, the biggest bitch, the nastiest girl in Sunnydale history - nothing frightened her anymore, not really.
But this - this was terrifying. She couldn't believe that it had come to this. It was just her and that...that thing. It just sat there, staring at her, taunting her, with its big hairy body, and all those creepy legs. She was sure she had never seen anything as gruesome. She took a deep breath, and hoisted her weapon. She wanted desperately to call Angel or Doyle in to help her, but she was certain that the moment she moved or spoke, it would attack, and then she'd be screwed.
No, she was going to have to fight it herself.
She took another breath, calming herself, and then, she lunged. She let out a battle cry, as she pinned it to the ground. She struck it over and over again until it lay on the ground nothing but a twitching mass. She stood, brushing herself off as Angel and Doyle rushed into the room. Both looked panicked, and Doyle put a hand on her shoulder, "Cordy? What is it? What's wrong?"
She pointed at the ground where it lay, "I killed it." She spoke proudly, and Doyle cocked an eyebrow, glancing quizzically at the spot on the floor.
He laughed, "What, the spider?"
