Harry Potter and the Isle of Sky

Summary: Summer after fifth year, obviously this is AU, Harry Potter learns another unbelievable secret, this time from someone I know you least expect. However, this someone holds knowledge that could end up bringing down the Dark Lord for good.
Prologue
"Dumbledore, what you ask is impossible."
"I know it can be difficult. But we need you. We need a Defense teacher, and you are the only one with the knowledge that can help in the fight."
"Headmaster, I gave up my wizard life over a decade ago, nearly two. The closest I've come back to it, is that boy. I can't go back now. I promised myself that my wife would never find out, her or my son. I can't……it's just been far too long."
"I know the reasons you made the sacrifices you did, and I am eternally grateful that you have done this for us, to watch over and protect the boy. But that's even more reason to come back, to accept your magic life back, to stop living a lie and to tell your family the truth. You would not only be helping us, but your nephew. As you probably know, his godfather died this past year. He's going to need all the support he can get."
"Very well, I will think on it, and get my answer to you when the school owl comes with his list this year. I will tell them truth, but the Lord have mercy on you if my family deserts me, because I sure as hell won't, Albus."
With that, a heavyset man doused the fire in his fireplace, not wishing to speak with the other any longer. It was late, and he needed to sleep now. He would have a long day tomorrow.
AN: Okay, I had to do the prologue short sweet and to the point, and obviously only in dialogue to a point.so as not to drop any more hints than I did. Yes, I am posting an awful lot, due to a combo of writer's block and a flood of new ideas. I will be continuing Small Prayer as soon as I can clear my mental writing desk. Oh, and can you possibly guess who Dumbledore was talking to?
