Disclaimer: If I owned Bleach Ichigo and Rukia would be able to at least talk to each other. (The VERY least)

AN: I tried to make this as recent as the latest chapters, but since there hasn't been that much info about Ichigo's everyday life, there wasn't much I could do…. Sorry

Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Enjoy!

February 14.

If it was up to him, the day would be just like any other day. But it wasn't up to him, so he had to go to school and hear giggles and sighs all day, if it he was especially unlucky he would even hear shrieks from the most… enthusiastic girls.

The day was a pain. He didn't care that he was single, but everyone else was so excited about it that he always ended up in the middle of something he'd rather not.

Pleasantly enough, the day at school passed in a blur with a minimum of causalities. And by a minimum it meant that he had only been threatened by Tatsuki during the attempt of refusing Inoue's chocolates, Keigo had been crying around him for not receiving any. Tatsuki glared when he was going to offer Inoue's so he decided it was best not to do it. He had to hear Keigo for the rest of the school day.

Work was uneventful, thank god. But the odd jobs of the day obviously involved Valentine's Day. At least he was getting paid for it…

Full bring training, though… He didn't know Riruka that well and she hadn't struck him as the sanest of the group so he thought the best approach was for him to accept her present. The training wasn't particularly hard on him mentally, once he got the hang of it everything else was up to training. It was starting to take a toll on him physically, though.

He got home late as was usual nowadays. Everyone was already asleep. Now that Ichigo was alone and lost in thought, he couldn't help but think that something was amiss. He was exhausted as he walked up stairs to his room, but as tired as he was, there was this feeling at the back of his head that he had forgotten something.

As he reached his room a small black box with white lace caught his attention on his bed. 'It's probably from Yuzu… we didn't talk today.' He would have put it aside and open it the next morning, but something pulled him to open it right then. He removed the lace and opened the box. Inside there was a note that read

I'm sorry I only heard about this tradition at the last minute. From what I heard I was supposed to make it myself but I didn't have the time to do it, I'm sorry. I hope it doesn't ruin it for you and you can still enjoy it nonetheless.

I miss you

It wasn't signed but of course he knew from whom it was. Was this that he was forgetting? The feeling that had bugged him was suddenly gone. He took a bite of the chocolate. It wasn't too sweet nor too sour 'if she had done it herself it wouldn't be this good' he thought and a smile that could be barely seen graced his features. He saved the chocolate for later and got ready to bed. As he dozed off he said to no one in particular "I miss you too Rukia" and mentally added 'I'll be seeing you for white day.' And he let himself fall asleep.

Outside his bedroom window stood the very shinigami that had left the chocolates in his bed. It hurt more than she would ever admit to be near Ichigo and be unable to speak to him. Still, her heart was a little warmer now that she knew he missed her as well. 'If it's meant to be, we'll be able talk to each other again, face to face' she thought.

And somehow, she knew it was meant to be.
